With a littlel inspiration....

I so enjoyed this book and its lovely contents, a pictoral visit to Mary Englebreit's home, sweet home. So much in fact. I fell in love with a bookcase/hutch here. And decided to create one also. If I could. ..and.... I finally posted a pic of myself in the sidebar, so we might feel that we know each other just a tad more. I was encouraged to read that you were glad of it too. I do like to see other's photos very much, I must admit. =)

This picture isn't very good, but see that hutch behind the chair? Well, thats the one that I really loved. I posted a picture of my version different times, but here below is the finished results and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I'm loving it.

The base is an antique dresser base, whose quaint mirror is now hanging over a bench downstairs. The top was a bookcase shelf I designed myself ....years ago. A friend who is an interior designer came by and gave me the thumbs up on this project and had me paint the backboard deep blue, so the dishes I displayed would 'pop'. Really I wanted a cream background but who was I to argue with genius? If there is something you admire, just maybe you can create your own version of it easier than you think!

Very inspiring Maggie Ann. I do remember when you posted about your decorator friend helping. I think you've done a great job. My newest project is turning my recently moved out of the home daughter's room into a sewing room .. hope to use lots of flea market finds and some antiques. Have a blessed day .. week .. start to summer.
