We filled up our back seat and the trunk with irresistible produce from an Ohio Flea Market. They have an auction around 5pm and we just kept bidding on acorn squash and such, until we were hard pressed to get it all packed in the car.

Aren't these miniature pumpkins cute? They will be shared with friends at church, along with some of the other things. The prices were hard to beat. The only down side was that I bent over another chair to scoot a watermelon closer to me ....clearing the aisle a bit, and a muscle in my leg got really strained. Feels like a broken something or another, but I can walk...just ouch! if I twist at all.

I recently read that pie pumpkins can be cut in half and the seeds scooped out....then bake it in the oven like you would a squash, is this true? Hope so.

'Come ye thankful people come, Raise the song of harvest home! All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin; God, our Maker, doth provide....For our wants to be supplied;....Come to God's own temple, come, ....Raise the song of harvest home!"

~~~ Remember when blogger let you post in colored font? What happened to that I wonder? I wanted to post this bit of hymn in the color orange. Wouldn't that have been pretty with the pumpkins? Oh well....
Oh, it does look like you got lots of goodies! I love those little pumpkins :)
My husband says that he has heard that people do cut pie pumpkins open and bake them like squash, but we have never tried it ourselves. Sounds good though. Might be worth a try :)
Hey girl ! The produce looks good.......I've should have taken time to learn more about cooking than opening cans !
I love the song/poem......and I can still post in colors.
Make sure when you go to do a new post that the compose button on the upper right of your post box is clicked. If it's blue, you need to click it, and you will have all your controls, hopefully.
I don't know......since you were able to add a photo, I would think that it IS clicked !
Yes to the pumpkin question. Save the seeds .. they make a yummy snack when cleaned, lightly oiled/salted and roasted in the oven for just a bit. Nice apples .. any plans?
