A recent 'find' =) is this platter..stamped W.H.Grindley, lorne pattern. This is called 'flow blue' and means when the pottery was fired the color 'ran' a bit. It is a delightful collectors item. This platter has two major cracks that have yellowed over time, yet still it is beautiful. Grindley is in the Tunstall, Staffordshire region of England and I found it interesting to read up about the making of this type of pottery. Is pottery the right term I wonder? I think it was manufactured between 1891 and 1914. 
I ordered these glass 'cane beads' in bulk and wouldn't you know it....only about 30 were the right size to make rings from. I'm sure perhaps...maybe...I'll be able to make necklaces with them, eventually. Did I say maybe?...lol. And now, may I leave those of you who are outside the family of believers with a few truths? Truths that are a haven and a resting place for my heart. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Who does not want to have eternal life in heaven?
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Romans chapter 20, verse 9.
"Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans chapter 10, verse13. Something wonderful to tell others!

That platter is so pretty! I love flow blue. As for your beads. That's something I've always wanted to try!
Hello again! What an interesting platter, you got my curiosity up and so I looked up Grindley in Staffordshire on google. My train between Derbyshire and Oxfordshire goes through Stafford, but I never get off to look around. I have never been to the Potteries as the area is called.
