This is what I've been doing this afternoon/evening. Painting this beam for the 3rd time. Finally, its the right color. Hubby still has to box in the support jack and it will then be painted the same 'Cinnamon Cherry' by Behr paints/Home Depot. The 1st two coats were Barn Red by Sherman Williams and looked terrrible. You know, I am liking this though. The walls are a mustard/gold color and you can see the huge difference lighting makes. There is a flourescent light over the desk and it makes the paint appear yellow. The wall lamp makes the paint its true color and the Cinn.Cherry paint does look good with it. I'll post a picture as we make progress. Maybe my decorator friend does have something good going on here...hmm. Just this one wall is painted like this...the other 3 walls are creamy/tan. I painted the legs of this little magazine rack the Cherry too. Left the plastic down till I see the beam in the daylight... I'm saying to myself...not a fourth coat...please!

The Lord has encouraged my heart greatly this day, as I remember his character and his words of truth. Written down just for me...and you. To encourage and instruct. "He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him." Psalms 103:10&11

Is this a basement room? I think the colors look wonderful; your decorator friend has a good "color" eye :) Can't wait to see the finished product!

The beam looks good but I love the yellowish background colour on the walls even better!

I can't wait to see the room finished...hope you will post a picture when it's all done!

(I would really LOVE to paint the walls in my apartment...but we aren't allowed to, so I have to try to make it look warm even though all the walls are off-white).

You are always busy creating something pretty!

It is good to read of other churches that still have choirs. I thought we were the only ones any more!

I went to a new church tonight and the Bible study was being hosted at a womans house. She had the prettiest most bold colors on the wall and I was so comfortable there. I think I'm going to get brave and try a new color or 2 on my walls...

Thanks for the inspiration - it's beautiful!
