Something New...

Have you ever heard of a 'sock blank'?  I never had until recently, when I went to a wool festival and bought this one already dyed.  They are just plain white when purchased and you dye it yourself. (my dyeing efforts leave a lot to be desired as yet)  It is a long narrow tube 'sock' and you unravel it as you knit. I am enjoying it!  You can see the color variations....it knits up with a bit of a water color effect.  It is in the cocoon stage, hopefully being turned into a butterfly.  Well...a shoulder shawl to be exact.

I've found the most marvelous pattern over on Ravelry.  No counting stitches or rows,  you just alternate 3 stitch patterns back and forth to your liking. The title of the pattern is 'One Love' by Susan  B. Anderson.   Her patterns are wonderful, just to look at even.

It is a dreary rainy day here,  a good day to read and knit...
