One of the things I appreciated most about my Grandmother and Mom...is their love  of needlework.  They always had something in progress.  Doilies or an afghan or a pillowcase to embroider....which decorated the couch and coffeetable daily.  Along with their current read, which is so a part of 'me' too.  Books and needlework lover, thats me, with a bit of music thrown in.  This table topper was bought, but those scalloped edges make me happy.  What is it about scallops?  They are just so pretty!

What a happy lady, out for a swing.  And I do mean 'out'....twenty four seven.  There is my swing, off in the distance.  You are never too old for a swing!

A hosta is like an old friend.  There for as long as you can remember. Keeping you company summer after summer.  Faithful  without any coaxing. And catching me by surprise when it blooms....A blossom of wonder and beauty.  Thank God from whom all blessings flow.  Because flow they do...countlessly.

Such a lovely post. I remember mother and grandma having pretty crochet dresser scarves, pillowcases and tablecloths - most with scalloped edges. I have too much sun for hosta here, but I always loved them so at our last garden. I have fond memories of swinging from a swing daddy made for a pecan tree at my childhood home. Thx for the memories today.

I love your table topper too. I have many of My Grandmothers crochet doilies I really cherish. I love that other lace round table topper you also bought and put on the square table. It reminded me to get my lace table topper out and use it too. To lovely to hide away, hey?? I also had one of those swing in my younger days. Lovely post. Hugs Judy

I love what you said about the hosta. You are right, like an old friend. I never thought of that, but it is so true. I have so many in my garden and yes, every summer I can count of them.
Great Post!
