I like these vintage Easter Greetings, someone had a sense of humor.  Note the eggshell 'planter'..lol.
And I see it looks like Mom Chicken is doing all the work while Dad is supervisor,  of course Mom's are terribly capable, its true. =<

Looks like an Easter trip to Grandma's house.  My Gran used to make Easter eggs and dip them in chocolate.  And crochet pretty edges onto store hankies.  And read and read and garden.  She had a special flower bed just outside the cellar door.  I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when we visited her. I loved those visits...just books and needlework strewn about, always flowers in vases and the swing under the apple tree at the side of the house.  You know,  silly me,  when her house went up for sale after everyone passed on....I wanted that house.  It held so many sweet memories.  Instead of family getting it...a relative by marriage sold it.  But we have a pleasant home...and the memories I have, though dim, of Grandma and her homey house,  stay with me even yet.  Who knows what impressions we are making on our grandchildren?  Its something to think about.

Kittens at play...any kind of egg shell sure wouldn't last long around frisky kitties.  Cats make people smile, don't they! My daughter tamed a wild little kitten one summer and it was the happiest of summers for us.  Little 'Buddy' was always doing something to make us laugh. My Grandmother always had cats...and always one called 'Needles' that they really called 'Needsie'.   A black & white beauty she was.

Ahhh, the Cross!  The real reason for Easter...those of us who are born again,  want to help others to know of the Cross and how Jesus suffered and died there to take the punishment for our sins.

'Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on  him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death to life.'  John 5:24

I still remember the Sunday morning 30 years ago, when I went forward publicly to accept Christ as my  personal Saviour.  The song that was sung that morning was called...'There's Room at the Cross for You'....the first lines of the song said this...'though millions have come, there's still room for one.  Yes, there's room at the cross for you.'

I knew without a shadow of a doubt, God was calling me.   Self-righteous sinner that I knew I was...God wanted to cleanse away my sins because of Jesus and his sacrificial death on my behalf.  And I knew for sure I wanted my sins forgiven.  I wanted to go to heaven when this life is done.   And I went forward....and knelt down at the front pew....and prayed,  forgive me dear God, and please save me from my sins, in Jesus name.

'There's a peace in my heart that the world never gave..a peace it cannot take away....' can't remember the song title.  Love it though.          Happy Easter!

Yes I have read the Detective series! Very fun. It's a bit more southern Africa than West Africa, but in many ways similar. Africa is Africa! Thanks again for all the comments!

Good evening Maggie Ann, what a delight and privilege to read your testimony, thank you for sharing with us. I am still memorizing Psalms, again thanks to you for sharing. It is my joy and pleasure to walk each day in the park with Bella and say them out.
What an amazing time you must have had in Arizona, the cacti information shows us again how infinite and meticulous is Creation, how awesome our Great Creator is.
Enjoy your Pa lush greenness :0)

Loved this wonderful post, Maggie Ann. And thanks for your sweet comments on my blog too. I go to the eye Dr. tomorrow. I had some drops left over from before which has helped a lot.

Christ's loving sacrifice and the fact that He rose again, are what makes it all worth while! That is the perfect thing to share at Easter, and I am happy that you as always share the gospel in your blog! May you have a very blessed Easter!
