Valentine's Day is almost here.  Isn't this a sweet cupcake?    It doesn't get much sweeter than this.....=)
I am so thankful for my wonderful husband.  God truly blessed us with the sweetest life together.  And retirement?!!!  oooh la la.  We love it.  It's the icing on the cake.  So far anyway!

A stack of books on top of the piano....just waiting patiently.  I think I need a daily reading schedule here! (and there are stacks of fiction waiting also, which gives me a happy feeling of anticipation)

When I get the camera out I'm on the 'look-out' for pictures to share on the blog.  I have a love for twig baskets and roses of any sort.  Our roses outside....did not do well this summer and fall.   Whaa...aa.  And, does anyone know of a good wallpaper repair glue?   We have bought two kits and neither does a good job.  Our seams are popping apart and the wallpaper is rather heavy and hard to re affix.  Any ideas?

Just a peep of the snowy day we awoke to.  And every day has a shoe in it.  Or two....

A look outside the front door through the stained glass. It tripled everything and caught my fancy. I'm so thankful for all the beauty God shows us so richly and also thankful for eyesight!  And ...I think I'll just add here,  I am thankful to be able to be thankful!  Knowing Christ as my Saviour and being 'born again'  gives one a wonderfully thankful heart that keeps on giving thanks back to our Precious God.

This is how we sometimes spend part of our evenings!  Cracking almonds and enjoying treats.  (Along with a good movie or book) Our daughter picked these nuts for us in the sunny south.  What a blessing to have big bowls of nuts like this, they are so expensive in the stores.

I am thankful for so much and my heart goes out to those who are hurting in some way.  May today  bring help and healing....courage and hope.  For those who accept Christ as their very own Saviour,   Jesus tells us, 'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid'.  John14:27

'Be careful for nothing (don't be worried about anything); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.    And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.'  Philippians 4:6 & 7.

Thanks for sharing your day. Most every day I hear the news I have to tell myself God is in control and I need not worry or be afraid.

i really like the view through the glass in the door and the cup cake is so cute and sweet and no calories involved.
we love retirement to. have never regretted it, Bob has been retired for 13 years and me for 5 plus. no idea about the wallpaper. maybe ask the Home Depot people, ours here are really helpful.

That is such a lovely posting Maggie Ann. I love to see things around your home, it is like really calling in on you :0) I have a pile of wonderful (children's) books to read - all by Michael Morpurgo (War Horse) - but I have to pace myself or else I think I would curl up and go "cover to cover" and not notice the ironing .... the dinner to prepare ..... the shopping to do ..... and Bella to walk!
We had snow, but it has all gone away today.
My Bella Bag blog is coming to an end so I hope you will keep up with us at our new Blogland address

What a beautiful post, Maggie Ann! We do have so much to be thankful for! Wonderful photos, too! I bet you are enjoying the magic of the snow. Thanks for your comment on my Fridays Fences. Yes, I would love to get together if you come to Phoenix...we really never go there, but would be willing to head in that direction to meet with friends. Dorothy just put me in touch with a new blogger friend who winters in Phoenix so perhaps that will work out as well. I have possibly four blogger friends who will be coming to Tucson or closeby some time this year and I hope we can meet also.

God bless you and yours! Have a beautiful Valentines Day tomorrow with your hubby!
