Summer blessings...

Here is my finished 'Fair Isle' Blue Jeans Purse ...which for me will be a blue jeans skirt purse. You can see I've gotten off the pattern in the burnt orange & teal row. But overall, I couldn't be happier with this purse. I'm a bit amazed I could do it to tell the truth! I am now a 'Fair Isle' fan. Oh yes!

An 'inside' view of my finished 'Fair Isle' purse. The pattern is from 'Friends of Cabin Fever' and my first attempt at 'Fair Isle'. Love it! I'm planning to start another and hopefully make it larger. A new friend is going to show myself and some other ladies next week, how to carry the wool across the back instead of the strands. I love to learn new things. But, will do what works best for me just now.

This book led me on a delightful discovery. I bought it at a flea market a couple of Saturday's ago for only 50 cents. It looked like a wholesome read...and the name Mildred A. Wirt intrigued me. It seemed familiar somehow. So I googled it and found that Mildred Wirt had been a 'ghost writer' for the Nancy Drew series and many other popular girl's series at that time.

And to make it an even more enjoyable experience, I went to 'Kindle' ebooks on 'Amazon' and downloaded about 15 of her novels, for free! No Nancy Drews' though, but plenty of others written by her. I am tickled pink. The 'Runaway Caravan' was very enjoyable and a copy in pristine condition was up for sale at Amazon for $49. I got 'The Wishing Well, Whispering Walls' and many more from Kindle ebooks for free. I am still excited about this discovery!

If you have children around the age of 8 to 12? you may like to check out 'The Four Little Blossoms and Their Winter Fun' plus others by Mabel C. Hawley, which was a free download too. Oooh, so many good authors for young people from that time period.

Here are two verses from God that I found a resting place for my heart in, this morning.

Psalm 23:a 'He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psalm 63:5 ' My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.'

Some folks try to wait until the end of their life to make peace with God, but even if that should happen, oh the blessings with God they miss now.

Love everything you're doing, Maggie Ann. The purse is so neat and like Patsy said, such beautiful colors! And the book! I love vintage books, too, and feel they are a true find, especially when the cover is as colorful as this one. Speaking of books, heartfelt thanks for buying mine. That means so much. I tend to tuck books away for winter reading by the fire. Fall is on the way. I can't believe it! Hope you have a wonderful day there.
