Wednesday Stamper Challenge

The challenge this week at 'Wednesday Stamper' was to make a 'Two inch by four inch' collage. The stamp I used was from the 'dollar' bin at Michael's craft store. It has tiny swirls on it...as soon as my hubby picked it out for me to see...I really liked it. That went on top of a dictionary page, an overlay and a bit of a novel page. Color that with a bit of yellow and some gesso and here's my bit of art.

You know...I was thinking, what are the rules...what elements put together a balanced collage. I've been out of the loop for a while and sometimes my efforts at collage are bad...then I sort of 'happen' to get one I'm happy with. Maybe I need to go read tutorials but...time....time...where does it go? =)

Hello there, I'm so glad your getting sorted there. Your collage looks fabulous. I love using book pages. As for my resist, I used a versamark pad but any clear embossing ink pad will do and embossing ink. The orange colour was Rangers, distress inks (spiced marmalade and fired brick I think)blended over using a make up sponge. take care.

In answer to your stamping question, yes I stamped first with the clear embossing ink and then sprinkled with the clear embossing powder. I heated it up with the heat gun to melt it before applying the distressing ink. Maybe I should write a proper tutorial as I've got a few other ideas for things I'd like to try. For any other questions you can e-mail me on jaine_drake@hotmail.com

Your skinny mini 2x4 looks great. I think collage is a personal thing, no wrong or right, just what pleases you! Have fun with it!
