How about this recipe for the children to make? White chocolate or milk chocolate Cookie Bark. This looks yummy and is very easy. You'll need (or your children or grandkids will need);
20 chocolate creme filled sandwich cookies
2 and 2/3 cups white chocolate melts or chocolate chips...if you use semi-sweet chips add 1 teas.vanilla ext.
Melt the chocolate chips...break up the cookies and stir into the chocolate.
Spread in a 9 inch baking pan lined with waxed paper. Put in fridge or freezer till set. Remove bark from pan...peel off waxed paper and cut apart. Store in an airtight container. From...Family Fun magazine...Dec/Jan 2006 issue.
Just think of the possibilities here...and almost as quick as dipping large marshmallows in chocolate...which remains my all time favorite. I've been sitting in the kitchen sipping cherry tea while going through a few magazines. Perfect for this windy boisterous day. Oh look what I've just found! Love this..."Pop Down till Christmas"

I misread what you wrote and thought you'd been sipping sheryy tea. Was wondering what that was but it sounded nice. The cherry tea sounds good, do you make it yourself?

This chocolate bark sounds simple and yummy. I may have to share the recipe with Nathan's teacher at school. We make something similar but with white chocolate and crushed peppermint candy canes.
Maggie, I've just enjoyed reading your last few blogs. 'Fraid I haven't been a very faithful visitor to anyone lately. But it was so nice to hear about what you are doing and thinking. We had a very lovely Thanksgivin - relaxed and homey. I'm doing a lot of work on Christmas gifts and such and havan't done many challenges for a week or two. So glad you came to visit my blog.

Hey you :) This little recipe sounds wonderful. I have been meaning to come over but there always seem to be something that comes up. I too haven't been blogging too much. We had a nice Thanksgiving. We went to my aunt's and it was nice and quiet...just how we like it. The next morning was a sad one as our dog died. It was very unexpected and we never saw it coming. this past week has been hard on me. I know that you had mentioned Somerset Workshop and if you read the part where I did the picket fence and talked about a blogging friend that sent me a box of them.....well, I hope you know that was you :) You are the one that got me started with all that and I thank you. As for what I use for my wood, I like to use Mod Podge to attach my papers. You can use gel medium too but I make less of a mess with Mod Podge(matte). I also save all those fake credit cards you get in the mail. They are great to smooth out the glued papers to get them flat and the bubbles out. Also they are great with scraping paint onto papers. Oh, we have been putting our Christmas tree up slowly. A little each day. It is so funny cuz Montana is helping this year so the top of the tree looks normal cuz he can't reach up there, lol. but you should see the bottom, lol....he has Christmas bulbs in clusters of 3-5 all over. It is too funny but precious also. Hope all is well. Talk to you later.
Thanks,Maggie Ann...we don't do much baking during the year, but we make up for it during Christmas. :-) My husband is a diabetic, so we make everything with Splenda (or a mixture of Splenda & real sugar)...except for the fudge. It doesn't turn out too well with Splenda.
I remember being in Christmas programs at church, and how exciting they were! I also remember how nervous I would get before I would have to say my part in front of everyone! But, yes, I would have to agree...the Children's Christmas programs are the best!
