I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee...Psalm 9:verses 1 and 2a

Ever have a piece of furniture you just loved? Well, this is one that I have loved and enjoyed for years. Way back when, we only had our first child and she was only about 3 or 4, we went to an auction. This bed was being auctioned off in the back yard. I urged my husband to PLEASE!!! keep bidding..I wanted this so badly. I told him in worst case scenario I would paint [shuddering now] it! Well, he said he would only bid so high and no higher..and of course there was another person bidding against him. I think he refused to go higher than $10. Would you believe he won the bid for about $8. I was thrilled. He got it home and washed it down after dark using the porch light, with strong clorox water, then varnished it if I remember right. We used this bed for many years but now its in our guest room. We finally replaced it and bought an oak bed made by the Amish...and its a queen size and heavenly...beautiful and comfy.
Before I got saved, I hung my hopes on many a star..[possessions,what not], now my hope is in Jesus Christ, and in return he gives me his peace. I love God now and he is a vital part of my life. My Redeemer.
Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.."

What a beautiful bed head! I couldn't bear to part with such a lovely piece of furniture if it was mine! I envy your guests for being able to use it! What does an Amish bed look like? Photo please!
What a great find and price even back then. Thanks for sharing. Hope you have some nice plans for this autumn weekend.

It really is beautiful! I would treasure it, too. I've had so many things that I treasured, that had to be left behind me. Antiques, collections, etc. I've been a real gypsy. But as you said, in so many words, our treasure in Heaven is beyond compare. I was so sorry to hear that you lost a daughter. We did, too -- in an accident. There is a special bond between us because of that alone.
Love,
Nancy
Your bed is beautiful!! A real treasure. :)
