Oh dear, I had no idea so much time has gone by without my dear blog getting updated. The apples are still beckoning me to gather them again and again. These sunshiny days hold golden moments. We have a bench that encircles one of the maple trees and you will find me there on most afternoons. I wear a large straw hat and tuck a container between my knees to catch the peelings as I pare the apple skins away. Its very enjoyable to wander under the apple tree in the dappled sunlight, picking apples and shaking the branch's for the specially fat ones. When I see the prices for apples in the grocery stores, it gives me an 'Anne of Green Gables' kind of thrill to have God give them to us on this tree....as free as the air. No matter, they are not perfect, neither am I.

The ironing still waits on me, and my poor craft room too. Still, I've got lots of things accomplished this week. Making applesauce is right at the top of the list. What tops your list? Is it a lazy summer for you or a busy one? Does fall make you a little bit sad that summer is over and the winter is drawing closer, day by day? And that Christmas shopping is only 3 months away? It always makes me uneasy, thinking of the 'perfect' gifts to buy. Still...every year, we DO find some perfect gifts. I think! Gotta run, we're off to the grocery store. I'd much rather have the evening in but wifely duty calls.

Wishing you blessings on your Sunday. Our former and beloved Pastor used to say, 'Come to church expecting a blessing and you'll get one'. I haven't thought of that in years but its true. He also kept a plaque outside his office door that said something like this..gulp...'Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt!'. Grin...that made us think twice if we were going in with a complaint!
