Since it is now officially February 01, I think I'll enjoy posting some of these old-fashioned Valentines. I still have pleasant memories of decorating shoe boxes in grade school and trading Valentine's with classmates. What a bright spot in the cold February. I like the color red, its cheerful and makes me feel chipper & energetic. Well at times...grin. I was able to get red quilted placemats for the dining room table and bought red fabric to make a matching valance. That was before I came down with this virus. Which still has me in its clutchs...rather tightly.

LOVE....

  • "I love you.....For the part of me....That you bring out; I love you.....For putting your hand....Into my heaped-up heart......And passing over....All the foolish, weak things.....That you can't help....Dimly seeing there, And for drawing out.....Into the light...All the beautiful belongings....That no one else had looked.....Quite far enough to find......" Hi Maggie Anne-

I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I just read your sweet comment on my blog, and here's some info. From all I read about felting, you need to wash the sweaters on HOT with a little soap on the smallest water level. Too much water and they'll rise to the top, and it won't work well. Don't let the sweaters spin because it supposedly permanently creases them. I bought one of those zipper pillow covers at Wal-Mart to put them in so the wool won't clog up the filter, and I aired dried them. I don't want them to shrink so much that I can't use them. Most of mine have worked pretty well, but some of them DEFINITELY felt better then others. I haven't had any luck with the sweaters that have really big weaves. Hope that helps. Let us know what you make!

Hi Maggie Ann, I love your vintage Valentine Cards! You find some wonderful things to put on your blog! The tea room you visited for your birthday looks very special indeed.
I am sorry to hear you and your hubby have been so ill. Viruses can take many weeks to leave your body if you don't look after yourself while you are 'under the weather'. My Ken has been ill for two weeks with a similar virus (funny how these things can cross the ocean), but his health is compromised by chronic lung disease. After several visits to our local GP, he admitted today that he can do no more for Ken, and has referred him to a lung specialist :-(
On the good news side, I have some lovely new embroideries in my collection - come and visit!
