This is my new Lendrum spinning wheel, which I love! I've got a lot to learn, but am loving the experience so much. I am already a member of a nearby? spinning guild but haven't gone to any of their meetings yet. There is another spinner that lives about 20 minutes from me...she has only been spinning about 6 months but I'm glad to have been introduced to her and am looking forward to getting together. My husband's cousin is going to shear his sheep tomorrow I hope...and he will give me the wool from his 'white' one. Every day I think...will he shear today?! Off to bed I go...and am looking forward to spinning tomorrow among other things. Collage friends, I just found out today that tracing paper will go through my HP deskjet 845c printer!....now to try it on a collage and see if it is a good transparency."Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding." What fun! Something new to learn. Have fun and let us know how you progress. Interesting about the tracing paper. I'm sure you'll let us know how it turns out. I can't wait to see. Maybe I'll try it if it works for you. I've been cleaning house all morning. Now for a break and some art.

my mom has some antique spinning wheels that used for many years ... she has made her own yarn as well ... it gave her such pleasure at one point in her life ... now she is busy writing another installment on the life of her family ... hmmmm, i hope i turn out ok in it????

There was a display in our town during a Christmas fair of spinning, both drop spinning and with a wheel. I would love to try it. I'd love to see how you've got on.

You know I've never ever used a spinning wheel - is it hard to get the hang of?
I must look up a foto of how the indians here spin using a stick and their leg. It would amaze you!!
