I really enjoyed seeing this picture of a String shop in Bern, Switzerland. I have a special memory in my mind of sitting in a shop similar to this, trying out different bows not long ago. And, as I played, I could see the people walking past the store front, heads turning to look in as they passed along the street. The store door was kept locked you must 'buzz' to get in. What a special memory, I hope I never forget it.

"Into my heart's treasury....I slipped a coin
That time cannot take....Nor thief purloin.-
Oh, better than the minting...Of a gold-crowned king
Is the safe-kept memory
Of a lovely thing." Sara Teasdale

Dear Maggie-ann...
This is such a nice picture of the muscic shop!

My sister Grace plays the violin.
When I used to give piano lessons, she would get me to accompany her playing the violin while I played the piano.
It sounded so nice!
She needed to do this because when she was taking her exams, she had to play a duet with the examiner.

One of Lucy Maud Montgomery's stories is the nicest story about a violin that i have ever read..It was in one of the "Chronicles of Avonlea" books and it was called "Each in His Tongue"
If my memory serves me right, I think "Kilmeny of the Orchard" played the violin too.

But what could really compare with the poem "The Touch of the Master's Hand"
We had to memorize that poem one year for our Christmas Sunday School Program.

Well I have to run now Maggie-ann.
Betty is doing so well that she will be able to start back to work on Oct 31 for which I will be glad!
I just hope that all my blog friends don't think that I am ignoring them!....Love Terry
