One of my favorite movies. The movie has its beginnings in a wonderful book, 'A Girl of the Limberlost' by Gene Stratton-Porter. Elnora's Mother was a bitter woman and made Elnora's life as hard as possible. Just when things look like they will never improve, hope shows up and stays. I'm trying to condense my words here, but I am a talker...its one of the things I do best...grin. I've so many things today I need to do and want to do, so I'm launching into this sunny day with faith and work. And, I remind myself, wonderful accomplishments can happen when there is sunshine in the soul and feet that hurry to obey. Oh, I hope thats me today...sigh, smile, lifted eyebrow!...................."Just as there comes a warm sunbeam into every cottage window, so comes a love-beam of God's care and pity for every separate need." Nathanial Hawthorne........................"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee". Psalm 84:11&12 Posted by Picasa

Maggie Ann...i had forgotten about this book. A few years ago a friend told me about it and lead me to a link to read it online. I fell in love with it. I think I need to go buy the book so that I can read it again. I had no idea there was a movie for it. Have a wonderful day :o)

Dear Maggie-ann..I didn't read your post because I am still looking for that book and I don't want to see what it is about. I am just taking your word that it is a good one!!!
It is so nice that you are taking the time to read though. Nothing beats it.
I just love going into Chapters and watching all the people sitting here and there and even on the floors with their noses in a book!!
I miss talking to Sabine so if you are about here anywhere Sabine...Hi!!! Love Terry

A Girl of the Limberlost was one of my favorite books as a girl. Imagine my joy and surprise when we were on our way to PA one time, we were going through Geneva, Indiana. We stopped at her home and went through it. When the guide there heard I was a photographer, he told me to coome back in the spring and he would take me down in the Limberlost and show me some of the prettiest wild flowers I have ever seen. I never got to go back but it was very special seeing her place.
