Self-portrait Tuesday...isn't it? I bought these gloves at the local antique shop. They are so pretty, and if I can get up the nerve...I'd like to wear them to church this winter. My hands are always cold at church it seems. I'm pleased with this picture I had hubby snap. Its vintage and its me too! Wishing you a happy day across the miles. Thinking of cold weather and the beautiful snow outside....I leave you with this thought. "Wondor warms the heart and awes the eyes." anon. " All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all." Cecil Frances Alexander 1818-1895 This quote is taken from the book by James Herriot...."All Creatures Great and Small". I've really enjoyed those books but must say, I've painstakingly blacked out all the swear words. Blessings must be kept pure.  Posted by Picasa

Those are cute. I remember, when I was little, my grandmother used to have a pair of white gloves like that (no pattern on them I don't think). I don't ever recall her wearing them, so she probably did in her younger years. I remember playing with those gloves, putting them on and pretending to be a grown up lady, because that's what grown up ladies wore (according to my grandmother) at one time.

What a pretty picture! Are you really from the 21st century, Maggie Ann? (I don't mean this as a tease, quite the reverse!) This is so sweet.

Have a blessed week and keep warm!

Sending fond thoughts to you, "across the miles"... (I love that phrase)

Lovely pictures..the gloves bring back many memories from the 1950's and early 60's when many of us wore gloves to church, and graduations and weddings..*VBS* Wish I had kept all the gloves I had...LOL..and hats.
Love your snow picture..quite the unexpected treat..*S* Hopefully it isn't here to stay.

I miss the fashions of old, when women dressed in gloves and facy hats.

They are beautiful gloves. I have two old fashion hats that I bought at an antique store that would match nicely.

Enjoy!
