Sewing was a whole different world back in 1906! While I was up in the attic yesterday, I came across my collection (finally, had looked for it before)...of a years worth of 'The Ladies Home Jounal'. Yearly subscription, $l.25. Single copy, 15 cents. It has some wonderful needlework patterns in it and of course interesting ads of all kinds, music, and stories. I thought I'd post some pictures from it now and then. Its been a busy week here, and my hubby is trying to recover from a virus and doing a good job of that but he still has times he is 'under the weather'. I have started the 'tea' collage, but want to get back to the craft room and get it finished. I Love...making collages! It most certainly is my cup of tea = ). So this is a short post. Blessings to each of you who have come by. Hope your day is blessed and peaceful. Posted by Picasa

love the pictures from the magazines.. I have some old ones that I keep looking at over and over. As for the collage. I got mine in the mail but am so unhappy with the way mine look. I can't wait for stockings... maybe that will be a better swap for me! hugs my friend.

Oh my ! I feel faint..*VBG* What lovely corset covers. It would be much fun to have them today. Of course if we did, the young girls would probably wear them as blouses..LOL.
What a treasure to have those magazines from 1906. I love having my one Woman's Day from 1942..cost..all of 2 cents.
Look forward to seeing your collage when it's finished.

How fascinating. I LOVE clothes from the old times... Thank you so much for sharing the picture!
(I made a civil war corset last Spring... If only I had the time I would make more!)

Looking forward to seeing your tea collage!

Wishing you a blessed day as well. For me, it is sleeping time! But you still have some lovely hours ahead - so enjoy them. :o)

Oh don't you just love those vintage magazines?! Lovely clohtes, sometimes I like the underclothes more than the gowns! I am a sucker for camisoles and petticoats.
Hope your hubby is feeling better...

What a coincidence: I have just posted two more pictures from my 1948 needlework book, and one of them is of a lady stitching her lingerie! I sometimes wonder if we all knew each other in an earlier incarnation around that time...those of us who read each other's blogs I mean. We seem to have so much in common.
