This is just the perfect day for a tea party....thundering and storming! This charming table....reminds me that the Father...has sent us this word...by the mouth of his Son.."In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you....." John 14:2
When our Son was in Germany last week ...he stopped by to visit our missionary friends. They were having 'tea', complete with flowery tablecloth and plates of goodies. The ladies had church dresses on and the men ties. What a lift 'tea time' gives. I love it don't you? And....I'm printing out an old hymn. The truth in this hymn is scarier than anything that Halloween thinks up....I wanted to post this old hymn quoted by the evangelist last week. The truth expressed in this hymn from the 1800's is not sugar coated..but every word of God is true...and this falls directly under that category. I hope you'll read it. (but be warned, it is frightening!) I felt privileged to get hold of a copy from the evangelist and want to share it. If we have bowed our hearts and knees to Jesus....we are safe evermore. Oh beautiful truth!
The Conversation With Death........"Oh what is this I cannot see, With icy fingers taking hold of me?....I am death, none can expel, I open the doors of Heaven or Hell.....Now, if this be true, Please give me time to reason with you. From time to time you've heard & saw, I'll close your eyes and lock your jaws........Chorus......Death, now death, how can this be...That I must come and go with Thee. Death, now death, how can this be...When I'm unprepared for eternity.
Death, now Death please let me see, If Christ has turned his back on me. When you were called and ask to bow...You would not heed--you're too late now. I'll fix your feet so you can't walk, I'll lock your jaws so you can't talk, I'll close your eyes so you can't see, This very hour come and go with me. III Now death consider my aches and please don't take me in this stage. My wealth is all at your command, If you will remove your icy hand. The old, the young, the rich and poor....They all alike with me must go. No wealth, no land, no silver no gold....Nothing satisfies me, but your soul. IV.....Now, death, please give me time...To fix my heart and change my mind. Your heart is fixed, your mind is bound; I have the shackles to drag you down. .......Too Late! Too Late! To all farewell! My doom is fixed! I'm sentenced to hell! As long as God in Heaven shall dwell.....My soul, my soul shall burn in hell.
The evangelist was bringing home in his message the truth that...we have two calls in life. One to life in Christ....repenting and accepting Christ as our Lord and Saviour, but you CAN refuse Christ!..........The other call we have is to death....the death angel---you CANNOT refuse death....it comes to all. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13. "Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling, Calling for you and for me; See on the portals he's waiting and watching....Watching for you and for me." from the hymn Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling..Will.L.Thompson.... The choice is ours. A very special story and testimony can be read here. "Seeing Through the Eyes of God"...I loved reading it. Thank you Connie.

That tea party in Germany sounds wonderful!
Hi Maggie Ann!
love the tea party photo. I've been sick for the past few weeks, so I'm just checking in on my favorite blogs! I'm feeling better, but we were all pretty miserable here for awhile! It hit early this year!
John 14 is one of my favourite passages ... and comforting ...
good post ...
blessings on you!
Love the tea pot. But, is that a pink vase or goblet beside it? A tea party is a wonderful excuse to dress up.
This is a hymn? WoW. What a contrast to then read, Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling...
There is no true death for those in Christ Jesus. As Paul said, "To live is Christ. To die is gain." It's a win win situation.
That teapot is so lovely! Mmmmmm...
But Dear One, as to the rest of your entry, not everyone sees things the way you do, you know. Just saying... :-)
Mari-Nanci
oooh how divine! I love that tea pot!
Thanks for sharing the "true Truth" as Francis Shaeffer would say and for doing it by word and deed, as part of daily living.
It seems as though most people won't believe, but some will believe-brought to faith through reading the Bible, talking with a friend, or reading what you've been sharing on your blog. Then instead of being unbelievable and foolish, these words of truth that are so hard to believe become the only balm that soothes a sinful heart; the only guide through the narrow gate that leads to eternal life; the only truth rich, complete and holy enough to save a soul from eternal fire. Those hard words become precious and treasured! Thank you Maggie Anne!
Blessings to You-Claudia O.
