A little bit of cheer...

This sweet little banner was reduced to 29 cents at JoAnn Fabric,  and isn't it a cheerful little thing! And looking at this photo...the crocheted edging on the hanky brings back memories.  My Grandmother would buy a pretty hanky and crochet an edging on it and give it to us kids when our birthdays rolled around.  She and my Aunt lived together and read tons of books and did tons of beautiful needlework.  There was always a work in  progress in their living room.  I loved visiting them.  oh, so much.

My Mother also was always embroidering or crocheting and I too love needlework, only the world-wide-web  (& HGTV) eats up to many of my hours when I could be tatting or some such.  I do knit and tat....and collage now and then and wonder why I don't Do more!  Then I remember I'm old and tired, lol.
