The Queen, Anne, and the Bluebird.

First Anne!  Did you ever subscribe to 'The Avonlea Traditions Chronicle'...in 1992?  I did and was a huge fan of all things 'Anne'.  I first read Anne of Green Gables in Jr. High school and remember writing my best friend in 'Anne' talk.  I walked in a Green Gables wonderland....lol.    In this issue, I was surprised to learn that Norman Campbell, who composed the 'Anne' music also had directed many shows like 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' etc.

Here are some cut-outs of Anne and Diana.  Yes, I bought these as an adult...lol.

Sweet Anne,  waiting for someone to cut  her out an outfit or two.

This little cutie pie looks so much like my sister when she was small.  Remarkably so! Her designer is the famous Queen Holden.  This lady had paper doll sales of more than 28,000,000,  that she published in 1920.  What talent Mrs. Holden had and what a fun life she must have lived ...with this kind of talent.  And look what a cutie little 'Pat' is!  I enjoyed reading your comments about when and if you had paper dolls in your life, and ...or embroidery....or cross-stitch...= )

A celery flower?  maybe? I liked it....

Ta Da!!  My last Lego bluebird!  My son and I put it together last weekend and were impressed again! What a Lego masterpiece.

Today, I started writing a journal...and will add collage art and 'stuff' as I go along.  I found an old journal and enjoyed reviewing what I'd written.  I have trouble writing long-hand, so this will be interesting, my journal of 2015.

Isaiah 55:6 'Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near'.

Those old paper dolls bring back memories! I remember cutting out "Betsy McCall" in the McCall magazines my mom used to get.
Your Lego bluebird is quite amazing!

I had to smile when you mentioned that you bought the paper dolls when you were an adult... nothing wrong with that, sweet friend. We are all young at heart, right? :)

That is quite the bluebird Lego - very beautiful, my dear. Hugs to you!

Funny how we like the same books--
I have a very old book of "House of the Seven Gables" that was purchased in 1918 on a visit to the house. It has a picture of the house in it. It came down to me from family.
And I loved to play with paper dolls also.

I loved paper dolls! When I was a little girl, my grandma took the McCalls magazine which had a paper doll, Betsy McCall in the back pages. I spent many happy hours cutting out and enjoying the Betsy McCall paper dolls! Love your Lego bluejay! So pretty. You could use that bit of celery as a flower stamp! :-)

Oh yes! Paperdolls were the love of my life as a child! I wish I still had some of my old ones! Planning a post on dolls I owned (which will include paperdolls) soon also. Love this wonderful post! I was not a huge fan of Anne of Green Gables, as I didn't read any of them till I was grown. My cousin, twenty years my junior, was NUTS about her, and has visited some of her home sites. It celebrates our country's growth and earlier, sweeter days. That is always good!
