Apples & Animals.....

These beauties probably smell the apples.  We are blessed in America, aren't we!  Scenes like this are frequent sights in pastoral Pennsylvania.  I love living in our beautiful state.  The leaves are starting to turn gorgeous colors.  Just a bit here and there.

Look at the flies on this horse! I felt sorry for it.

Sunshine makes everything better.  I can still recall the cheerfulness of my Grandma's kitchen.  There was a window over the table that looked down over the valley.  The table was always messy with things.  Good things like homemade bread and of course...stuff.  I thought there was no place on earth as nice as Grandma's house!  And back then....there wasn't.  Grandma had a dish cabinet that reached from floor to ceiling, filled with pretty glassware.  And opening the door to the basement you would find all her skillets and pans hung on the wall.  It seemed like heaven to me back then.  For many reasons. She and my Aunt lived there in the country together....replete with books  and needlework, huge flower beds and always a cat or two.  Grandma was my very own Gladys Tabor...come to think of it!  When life is hard,  the special times are even more cherished and longed for.

I know its silly to post a picture of your frozen blueberry bag....but I was fascinated.  It had these perfect round dots of frost from the blueberries thawing on the way home from the store.  By the time I got the camera....it was melting rapidly.  But still...what a moment!

Psalm 9:2  I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most high.

We took a drive yesterday and got to see a lot of big horse farms. We are truly blessed with riches in this country. Enjoy your day my friend! Hugs, Diane

I love to see cows, horses and always look for deer when we drive in the country.
I remember my grandmother's good smells in her kitchen.
Now that I am getting old it makes me sad to think how long ago that was.

I love your words about your grandma. So special.
I love sunshine too, and I love how it makes me feel and how it comes into our house making it cozy.

To find beauty in the simple things is such a gift! I love your description of your grandmother's house as well! Oh, what a glorious place it must have been to a child. You inherited that love of pretty dishes from her, I just bet! :-) The horses are so lovely...very sad about the flies tormenting that one, though. I really hate flies and mosquitoes...I know I shouldn't hate one of God's creatures, but they are just so annoying! :-)
