Summertime Lazy

This was a fun day....getting to see vintage aircraft with our whole family.  We also got to see the jet our  friend pilots.  Talk about impressive...wow!

Here I am, in the flight simulator....taking off from the ground and getting airborne...with the pilots help.  It was so serene....up above the earth....but (in the simulator of course)  I crashed on the landing. But it was wonderful to get to try to experience.....up, up..and away.  =)

The glads are gorgeous.....I feast my eyes daily on the wonderful flowers all over the  place. Good job hubby!  He brought home loads of them and our portulacas' came up in droves by themselves.

Btw...In A World of Drama ...is an apple app that is tons of fun.  (Inaworld..is all run together)   Easy to use but remember it has a parental  switch....some of the suggestions need avoided.  Our family had lots of laughs with it.  It uses the voice of Jonathan Cook...who is famous for voicing....movie trailers.  You choose from lists what you want said..his voice says it and you select a photo from your camera roll to go with it.   Hilarious and touching. Create your own movie trailer is what you are doing....it ends by saying...'coming this fall to theaters near you'....or something like that.

I was so thrilled with this shot of the bumblebee.  Isn't it pretty nice! ....... How sad about the death of Robin Williams....I am so sorry for him and his family.

I went to knitting group yesterday (though it was raining and I was watching an old B&W western before I left and was tempted to stay home), and we knit and chatted our way through the afternoon. I think we made our own kind of sunshine.  We also had a great community yard sale 2 weeks ago and that was fun.  I'll have to post a few pictures of the fun things I bought.  In the meantime....I know I've needed to update my blog and so on.  Summer heat tends to make me slow down.  Summertime lazy.

Our hope is in the Lord who made heaven and earth!  These are terrible times...they touch us but faintly....while others suffer so greatly I cannot imagine it.  Our help is in the LORD...

'Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name....thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us this day our daily bread.   And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.  And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.'   Luke 11:2-4

It would be so much fun to try the flight simulator! I'm going to remember that and hopefully do it some day! We love going to museums like that! Sounds like you've had a busy summer. Enjoy your afternoon my friend! Hugs, Diane

So sorry, Maggie Ann, about your husband's sister! It is such a blessing it wasn't worse! I meant to write you before now and you know how it is, you get distracted! I love this post. It sounds like there have been some good things in the summer as well for you and your family. I got to do the jet simulator along with the other wives when my hubby was in pilot training, and decided to be "cute" and do a barrel roll right after landing. I was so low, I tried to "pull up" by pulling back on the stick, but because I was upside down it drove me into the ground! :-) I think it was pretty embarrassing for Russell! :-)

That Movie App sounds fun. I just don't have an iphone. I am one of those people who believes a phone should act like a phone, and not a computer, and I shouldn't have to pay for a bunch of stuff I won't use. I can't see that tiny screen so getting online (though I can) only happens in the most rare of circumstances (like if I am getting an address) and I use my enjoyment time for the computer. We have the most basic of service and have a much smaller bill than most people though our phones are Androids and I could add things if I wanted. Just isn't me. I am very old fashioned! :-)

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Please think of me also as I go in for a thyroid biopsy a week from tomorrow! God bless you!

Right after take-off...not landing. I should proof-read before I send! :-)
