Favorite Gifts!

'
I love this charming box of 'artwork' postcards....complete with a bit about each one on the mailing side.

Yes, 33 cents is what the postage is for a postcard but/and aren't the apples the perfect sweet thing to adhere to the dear drawings of Beatrix  Potter?  I'm convinced of it =)

Art 'stuff'  I really...really...really like!  I am going to start the New Year by keeping the 3x5 cards in a booklet form...collage album, you might say.  Several journal entries a week with collage art,  that  should be enjoyable.  I did this once for a few months and loved the doing of it and the archive of daily life.  Rich.  Inexpensive and thoroughly enjoyable to take 10 minutes or so just to reflect on things.  Paste a cartoon that makes you laugh....or glue stick bits of special paper with a quote or picture.  A bit of poetry that makes you catch your breath and reflect on God....so many little gems and joys that get passed over.

This was one of last year's favorite gifts and what we gave our Sunday School children this year.  Walmart's snow-globe with an insert for your own photos!  Love it. Very special and around $5.   Well, I am hoping to knit a while today.  My second bout with a head-cold virus left me yesterday and I was happy to see it go away.  Wishing each of you a blessed New Year and a heart of joy....in Jesus.

Psalm 59:16&17

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing; for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy."

What fun treasures you accumulate !

I wanted to thank you for the beautiful words of faith that you share.

I especially like today's scripture, and have borrowed it to use just below my blog header. Two years ago I was falsely accused of a major criminal act, and 2 weeks ago I finally stood trial. God saw that I was exonerated ! The jury found me NOT GUILTY, and I will always praise HIS name for being my refuge and counsel against lying tongues !

Be well, happy, and BLESSED in the coming new year !

Enjoy the process of filling your 3x5s. At the end of the year, you will have a bit of art to remember…and all those memories.
Blessings on you in 2014.

You have inspired me! I absolutely love your Peter Rabbit postcards and agree the apple stamps could not be a better fit for them! And your collage a day intrigues me and makes me want to get out my sketch book and try again, Just stopping, as you say, for a few minutes each day to do so would slow you down and cause you to reflect. Wishing you many blessings in the new year!

What a delightful idea, Maggie Ann, to do the postcard-size art journal! Love your Peter Rabbit book also. Such inexpensive and art-filled ideas. Such things make life a little sweeter!

Glad to hear your Christmas was grand. I am finally back into the swing of things and posting photos with the new digital camera. Yay! Missed everyone during the long breaks over the last six months or so!
