We enjoyed the most amazing Saturday!  The historic home pictured here was open to the public and each room had someone in 'period' dress.  It was like having a portrait come to life before your eyes.  In one of the rooms a lady played her harp and her daughter played guitar with her.  I loved..loved it!

Then our local Historical society held a 'home tour' the same day and this Raggedy Ann tree was featured in one of the bedrooms.  So special...all of it.  In spite of a very rainy and cold day.  I wasn't sure if I would enjoy  the tour or not....and I did and it was delightful.

Whats not to like about cheerful Raggedy Ann?  That has to be one of the most cheerful faces ever stitched with love and given to a little girl.

Things are  piling up here.....so many tasks to accomplish and my energy level is never high, lol.  Still, the tree is down from the attic.  Not decorated though.  And our hearts are ever grateful to such a wonderful God as we have,  as we celebrate the birth of his Son...our Lord and our Saviour.

'And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.'  Luke 2:16  Oh to come to God with haste,  and a pure heart.  Often.

How terrible of me to find some comfort in another lady ( you ) not having her decorating done. As I get older that doesn't seem to me to be quite the crisis it used to be and I'm O.K. with some things being on my to-do list not getting done. Not too many things not done, but a few more than in previous years. Take joy in the season !

Raggedy Ann is a happy doll, isn't she ?
