Don't we love sunflowers?  What is it about them?  Is it the color?  They affect me like liquid sunshine.

I bought this copy of 'Better Homes & Gardens'  from June, 1927 for only a dollar.  It is not in great condition but very fascinating to glimpse life back then.

We once had a wringer washer...ugh.  I don't even see a wringer on this one.

 Sun-Maid raisins are still here...=)

Here's a wringer I recognize...well sort of.  I never saw this in person, lol.

This stove fascinated me...just hanging off the wall like that.  I never saw the like!  Have you? And I'm just now noticing that the sink is sort of hung the same way....no cabinet underneath.  I have a dim memory of being really small and we had a sink like this with a curtain around it. Well,  I'd better call it a day, I'm now burning the candle at both ends.

What a great find. I think those kinds of things are treasures. I have an old 1900 Whitehouse Cookbook. It was left on somebodies driveway with a free sign on it. It was left there with an old trunk and some old pictures. My son still has the trunk, and I have the cookbook. I have wanted to do something with it; cook and post some of the recipes or something...one of these days. Thanks for the inspiration, and the lovely look at days gone by, and thanks for popping onto my blog and saying hello.
Blessings
Pam

So good to take a trip down memory lane through that magazine. Aren't they fun to look at.... all those weird looking contraptions that our moms used everyday of their lives. I sure do love my fancy washing machine and dryer.

Hi Maggie Ann! So nice to have a visit from you! Thanks for your sweet comment on my paper wreath. I love old advertising like this. My own kids are reaching the age where they are saying to their own "I was born before cell phones and the internet." Things are changing faster than ever. No wonder I love all my old fashioned stuff!
