I found these pieces (the scalloped edged ones)  of vintage Homer Laughlin 'Riviera' dishes recently at an antique store.  They were on a cardtable outside the store that said 'anything on table - one dollar'.  What made this exciting was that this is the same set of dishes my Mom started out with when she was married!  This is the first time I've come across these, and it is so special to me. And for years we have enjoyed and added to our set of 'Fiestaware' by Homer Laughlin.( We used to go to the H.L. tent sale in Newell WV....and load up, back when sale plates were 25 cents apiece!   That was  SO worth standing in line for) Of course, all the new pieces have rounded edges.  Isn't it all so cheerful?  I still love it.

I found a new to me....magazine to enjoy.  It is filled with all kinds of information.

I had just been admiring our ornamental cabbage recently, and when I woke up at 3:30 this morning and looked out the window,  the picture below is what I saw; only it wasn't daylight...ha ha.  Just swirling snow in the light of the motion detector.

Large snowflakes were falling and the world outside my window was amazingly beautiful!! The Lord does everything fabulously! This snow reminds me of Psalm 19.

'The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. verse 2. 'Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.'

verse 13. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me; then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

verse 14.' Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength and my redeemer.'

So I am enjoying the beautiful snow while staying warm. My husband has the wood-burner going and the constant heat is so nice.  Stay warm!

Maggie Ann, I love those dishes. I am familiar with Fiesta ware but I just adore the shape of this pattern.
