Happy 4th of July!

We on this continent should never forget that men first crossed the Atlantic not to find soil for their ploughs but to secure liberty for their souls.  ~Robert J. McCracken

May it be so....and may we not forget those who have given their lives that we may enjoy the freedoms we so take for granted.  Reading 'Unbroken', the book about Louis Zamperini in WWII gave me a whole new appreciation for American freedom.  And a special thanks to every serviceman and woman,  serving in the American Armed Forces today.  We appreciate you!

'My country, tis of thee, Sweet land of liberty,...Of Thee I sing....Land where my Fathers died, Land of the pilgrims' pride.....From every mountain side.....Let freedom ring!'

America, the song, by Samuel F. Smith & Henry Carey.

A wonderful old patriotic post card! I love it! And I must read Unbroken, it sounds like a great book! Yes, we need to show our appreciation for all who have served and helped protect our freedoms!
