Happy days were here again!

We have had family visiting us the past week, and the time just flew by! We had a picnic, went to Chucky Cheese'z, visited the zoo, prepared the garden, cut up a huge tree...(well, the men did that part, with temps soaring into the high 80's). We had a wonderful time with our family and grandsons.

The Iris above was a beauty, and has been replanted. The front flower bed it was in was a tangle of flowers and weeds. So, it has all been ripped out and we are doing a new 'patio' to have little suppers on perhaps. I didn't mean to leave you all without a word, and I apologize. A blog without a word....an empty page....is not good nor polite. So please forgive! But.... behind the scene, so many hugs, and laughter here. Those sweet little faces of the grandchildren, & most of the family gathered together around the table, was oh so sweet.

I am reading 'Happiness Hill' by Grace Livingston Hill. And enjoying it with leisure time at hand now. I love the way Mrs.Hill quotes scripture in her stories. She gets the gospel & Bible truths out in the open so clearly. Glory & thanks to God for the fruits of her life. They have blessed my life so many times. Even now, at age 63...life is sweeter than ever. And to think, eternity with God, in his presence, will be sweetness that we cannot even imagine.

I Corinthians 2:9 "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

You are forgiven! So glad you could have your family around.
I also posted iris pics today :), I like your color better.
Haven't read G.L.Hill since I was a teen. Perhaps I shall again one of these days. Sounds good. Enjoy your leisure! Joyce

What a happy time you had with your family this week! I imagine the polar bear was so much more exciting being with your grandsons :)

The iris is just beautiful! We spent a lot of time redoing flower beds this week. It wasn't helpful that the temps soared into the mid-nineties and the sun beat down on newly divided perennials. They aren't looking happy right now but I think they will recuperate.

Sounds like you had a lovely visit with your family .. I'm sure some good memories were made :)

Our youngest daughter just recently moved out and I'm finding a secret delight of having more time for knitting .. even signing up for some lessons at a lovely yarn shop. Her room has become my little retreat for sewing and quiet time.

I hope your summer will be full of God's blessings.
