I really enjoyed watching 'Larkrise to Candleford' from the lending library, and some bits on youtube. I don't give it 100% endorsement of course. Still, it was VERY enjoyable for the most part. So, imagine if you can, here we are lugging books off and on the shelves, creating a home library and what did I find....but, this beautiful coffetable size book of, Larkrise to Candleford by Flora Thompson.

I hadn't realized just what I'd brought home with me, years ago...maybe 6? from a book sale in SC. I was so happy to have this tears sprang into my eyes. So picture me sitting on the floor cushion, cross-legged, in front of the bookcase, reading this book and losing myself in this wonderful story of country life in the 1880's.

I recently read that everyone should spend 15 minutes a day doing something they absolutely enjoy. And, later on in the day, think back upon this time and how much you enjoyed it, resulting in relaxing thoughts. Thats just what I did later on about this book, even later in the week. Sort of a miniature vacation and destressor all in one. So, my 'Larkrise to Candleford' reading is having long lasting benefits for me. =) Color me happy.

Philippians 4:13 'whatsoever things are lovely' ,,..if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
'Virtue' Dictionary definition....'moral excellence; goodness; righteousness'

The books are different than the BBC series. I would give it a 100% endorsement as my daughter and I await Season 4 starting in Jan. Lovely post and I smiled when I saw you found the book. Indeed the hand of God on that one!

Hi Maggie Ann, I am glad you have enjoyed your reading and I totally agree that it is a good thing to do something you enjoy for at least 15 minutes a day .... I joined the 20 Minuters and try to keep up to the ideal each day :0)
Apparently where I live now is within easy reach of the real Larkrise setting and if you give notice to them, a tour of the area can be arranged. I have been thinking it would be a lovely thing to do .... thank you for reminding me to do it!
Have lovely day .... hope you enjoyed your steak!
