A 'cheery cherry' garden marker in the making.

Another piece my hubby soldered for me. I don't enjoy soldering but I sure can cut out and grind and foil like mad. Its not hard at all...and so interesting picking out the glass and seeing how it all comes out. It is messy and a good bit of work. Well worth it though!

I have been trying to learn how to make origami folded swans. Its harder than I thought! When we were in NC recently I bought this mobile of little origami elephants which I am enjoying very much. Just the slightest motion will set them spinning. I'm smitten just a little, can you tell? Its so charming.

My 'Iris' bowl...very special to me. My Mom and her Mom used to work in a glass factory that made these. So, this is a collectible for all three of us. I'm the only one left of the three of us just now...grin.

I've been reading the lady detective books by Alexander McCall Smith...right now I'm reading 'The Good Husband of Zebra Drive' and even though I'm only on page 16 I've smiled a great deal. Marie....however do I pronounce 'Mma'? In my mind I keep saying 'mama'

Today was the Lord's Day and we had a precious time of worship services. I'm so glad we are called apart to focus on God 3 times a week and give him the glory and adoration of our hearts. And I'm so glad he is so compassionate and faithful to us. Our children's verse for the morning was Psalm 145:8 "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion." Our Bible lesson was all about Ruth and Boaz. How Ruth had compassion and love for Naomi her mother-in-law...and Boaz inquired about Ruth and had compassion for her and eventually love. What a grand story...and to think, it happened just the way God tells it. And God has such love and compassion for us. wow! I'm so glad I asked the Lord to forgive me of my sins and save me forever more.

I just say "mmmma," you know, holding the "m" sound. Who knows if I am right?

I am pleased as punch you are enjoying your #1 Ladies Detective Agency novels. They are priceless to me.

Found your blog on Google search when I was looking for Patricia St John's poetry.
Found that, and now also discover that you like the Ladies Detective Agency novels and stained glass, and stuff. :)
Thanks for posting.

Just stopping by and enjoying your posts! Your stained glass is just beautiful and I loved reading your little testimony of God's goodness to us. All is well in my world. I just made pumpkin pies - everyone in my family loves it and I figured, "Why wait till Thanksgiving?" I also made a small turkey and then turkey soup with the leftovers. I simply love this time of year when I can light the oven without making it too hot in the house - I've even made muffins, pumpkin bread, and yeast rolls! I am sure - by the time summer arrives - I'll be looking forward to the grill!

Thank you, Maggie, for the Listener's Bible button on the right side of your blog. I've visited it several times now, having bookmarked it. I'm enjoying the daily devotionals, and am trying to listen to the sermon,"Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God"......wow, how very powerful !

maggie ann,

I always thoroughly enjoy your projects and various interests. Very inspiring.

I'm reading a more modern type book in the moment but modern doesn't necessarily mean better especially with the anti-Christian mind set so prevalent in the world today. I can't wait to be done with it. It's saturated with a bunch of intellectual dialogue for where the author believes the Christian church went wrong and adopted from pagans. That may be true for the religious few burdened with dogma and rituals but not for those of His Word and Light. I find it ironic that such worldly authors always come back around to the same arguments because they cannot understand the true things of God without His Spirit. They are forever trapped in presumptions and parroted rhetoric. When seeing your mention of a book, I ordered more lighthearted reading from christian writings instead of what I'm reading now. I can take just so much of the world's agenda before I need a refreshment. It's valuable to understand/know the enemies thoughts/ways but I don't care to have them sit long in my mind or heart lest they take hold or put a drain on my affections for Christ.

God bless!

Just checking in :). Are you still 'preoccupied' since hubby retired ;)? My hubby went out and found another job after five months :)

Hope you both are well.
