Ah me....Blogger is denying me the privilege of posting a picture. What to do but forge ahead without one I suppose. Easter week just flew by and was such a blessing. Hallelujah, what a Saviour!

Since then, I've had my nose in books....as my dear Mom was wont to say. First I read the 'Annie's People' series by Beverly Lewis...oh so good!!!, then on to Beverly's 'The Courtship of Nellie Fisher' which is good but not 3 exclamation points good.

I just spent two hours sewing a skirt and am not really pleased with the fit at all. If I get ambitious I'll try a different pattern. The thing is... I'm drawn to the elastic waist quickies...grin. I confess. And they don't always give the best fit. Quick is so satisfying though.

All my seedlings (well, most of them) are doing good and I am beginning to be anxious to get them out to the back porch. I bought my first 'violet' self-watering pot last week and am going back for more if they still have any left. It really does self-water!

Oh do those pork chops in the crock pot smell yummy. Its been so enjoyable to cook and have comfort meals when the weather is often stuck between dismally chilly and overcast with bits of sunshine. It does add a bit of weight though. Right now I don't care....is that wise...grin.

I've been listening to J.Vernon McGee on my MP3 player. Did you know you can download his commentary for free from his site? Its not easy though..because they are so lengthy. I'm off to visit around now...well, maybe after a quick nap.

"Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come....." Isaiah 53:1 God's offer of salvation, so rich and free!

Unfortunately those elastic waist skirts tend to add bulk through the hips and tummy, right where most women don't need any extra padding!

I don't know if you can still get wrap skirt patterns, but w-a-y back in the late 70's I had a lovely wrap skirt pattern. It had the fitting darts and smooth A-line fit that is so flattering, but was accomplished with easy straight seams, a narrow hem, and NO zipper.

I'm going to paraphrase a J. Vernon McGee sermon I heard once about women that 'let themselves go' ... he said something to the effect that "if the side of the barn needed a little bit of paint once in a while ... to paint it" (this gave me a lasting impression as a young bride :) I'm impressed that you have a MP3 player Maggie Ann ... Hubby would like to get one ... only he'd have to have one of our children upload EVERYTHING to it :)

Your sewing efforts are very funny. I can smell the pork chops cooking all the way to Idaho ... and so what if they are heavy handed on the calories ... comfort food in great times of stress ... what more could a person ask for ... except for having such comfort at every meal!! :)

You mentioned J.Vernon McGee. I have a radio in my bathroom and listen to him as I prepare for bed during the week. I've been aboard the bible bus for perhaps 3 years and there's always something new to hear.

I hate it when a sewing project doesn't come out as I envisioned. That's so discouraging at times. I hope yours is eventually fruitful.

God's offer of salvation, so rich and free! They can't tax that!
