Does anyone else have the same wrapping station I do? The guest room bed is just the right height. Its very high off the floor..in fact we worry our guests will turn over too close to the edge and fall off this dear old bed with carved cherries on its headboard, but who could part with it? Not me =).

Between the colored glass or the coleous, I don't know which I enjoy more. Isn't color just fabulous to see. I praise the Lord for his beauty!....and at the onset of gray wintery days too. Now all I need to see is a cardinal flashing by. It would help to put out the bird seed, wouldn't it!

My spinning guild president gave me small 'starts' of these coleous in the fall and look how they've grown! I'm delighted. However, I brought in a start of my scented orange geranium and it refuses to root. I knew it was the wrong time of year to start geraniums in water but thought it wouldn't hurt to try. I do have a stem of African violet that rooted though. Sigh of satisfaction here, although I can't find A.Violet potting soil yet. I googled it and find it is 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 perlite, and 1/3 vermiculite. Back to decorating the small tree downstairs. These days are passing so quickly and there is so much to do, no wondor Mom always started getting ready for Christmas in the summer!

Just go to Walmart and you can buy Violet soil. That is where I got mine. Also I buy these great African violet pots also there at Walmart. They water themselves. Mine grow great in them..Have a great week!!

Yes I think most have the same place to wrap. I would like to see that wedding ring quilt on the bed.

My husband wraps in his mancave ;) I have a wonderful guy that does the nitty gritty stuff like wrapping gifts, buying cards, etc. Your plants will be a bright spot come winter. Speaking of winter, we're supposed to get snow tomorrow and Saturday followed by an arctic blast (15-18 inches predicted for the mountains where I live).

The glass is beautiful! Especially that gold/orange! I don't keep coleus in the winter, as I don't have a sunny enough spot for them indoors and they go all legs! Yours are beautiful. They are one of my very favorites too.
Is it snowing there, too? Ours has stopped and it's all melted now. It was beautiful while it lasted. (Blog snow, courtesy of Wordpress who provide it free through January 4). fun.

Hello! Dear Maggie Anne!
Ahhh Yes--wrapping gifts! I remember when my husband and I,all blurry-eyed used to wrap gifts for all the kids(7 to 13 of them) at the last minute, way late on Christmas Eve. Things are a bit easier now and I wrap at my leisure, usually in my bedroom--(it's the bed thing).
Now about plants--yours look all happy and colorful! I like to grow cactus just cause I find them so interesting. Winter takes a tole on the succulents--I just can't seem to grow them right. They become thin and spindly and hardly make it until I can put them outside again in the Spring. I think I need to give up and just grow regular house plants. I do keep a few geraniums too. They seem to do okay!
Thank you for all your kind words left at the cabin!
Have a wonderful Christmas season!
Love Ya!
Claudia

Oh I just love how you enjoy the simple beauties in life like color! I do too. Sometimes it is just overwhelming when I see all that God created.

Love all your plants. Just seeing yours is making me anxious to see all those spring plants come up. But I'll try not to rush it. Winter has its beauties too.

Smiles,
Lea

Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot all have violet soil. They may not have it right now because of Christmas stuff, but I'll venture that it'll be on the shelves very soon after the new year. It's amazing how soon they get gardening stuff out.

Congratulations on rooting that violet.
