On this cardtable is a lot of work(click on the pictures to enlarge them if you'd like)...but so worth it! Remember when we visited the goat farm about 2 weeks ago? Well this is all of the mohair washed AND dyed. Part I dyed teal and part raspberry and a little was left undyed and it has the most beautiful sheen to it. Also today I took some Corriedale and dyed it (yellow & pink with the natural cream color inbetween) with Kool-Aid. What fun. Dyeing the mohair with 'Classics' something dye was a pain and took forever it seemed. But dyeing with the Kool-Aid went so quickly and I ended up 'painting' it and then wrapped it in saran wrap and steamed it in my double boiler for an hour.Wish I'd taken a picture of that process. I love the lemonade yellow with the strawberry, which looks orange in this picture but is really a strong pink color. And, it seems to be colorfast too. It should make a wonderful varigated wool to spin and knit with.

This is an evening picture so the lighting isn't the greatest. I had my husband pick up some more lemonade Kool-Aid today.I love the soft yellow color. Tomorrow if I have time I would like to dye the rest of the Corriedale solid yellow. I'm pretty tired, I may be mispelling that!

Here is a close-up of the mohair from the Angora baby goat. Its just gorgeous..so soft and silky and curly. You can see, I've taken a bit of the raspberry dyed mohair and 'combed' it. It is soft, soft, soft! I will use a good portion of this to add to the 'Gooseberry' fleece which is black/dk grey. Our spinning guild president suggested that it would be beautiful with threads here and there of teal running thru the wool. I've been a busy girl this week...thought you'd like to see what I've been doing.

oooo...that is yummy looking!

I adore Gladys Taber books... This is the time of year to get one out to read. My dad had several in his collection.

The yarn looks beautiful ... and to think that inexpensive Koolaid made it look so wonderful. Does it have a fruity small too? What do you plan on making from the yarn?
