A warm hello to my blogging friends! Its good to be back. We've been pretty busy lately. Our trip was really nice. Right after we got home we got a call that my sister fell in the shower and broke her ankle..a compound fracture, poor thing! She has had surgery and just today left the hospital to be taken to a nursing home-rehab center for 3 weeks of rest and therapy. I can't say its a place I would have chosen for her but am hoping it all works out for the best, since the Lord never fails us. No matter what or where we are.

I'm posting a few pictures of our trip. During the ride home the sky was studded with glorious clouds, with wondrous beauty to enjoy. I kept snapping pictures with my phone camera and loved every minute.

Also you can 'see' the pattern I'm working on with my home-spun yarn. That was a 'blue' pleasure...to hold it on my lap over my blue skirt and knit for hours. The car has a sunroof and the light was great...too bright at times. We listened to XM radio...old mystery shows and such along with some gloriously beautiful classical music. I actually enjoyed that long ride home! Well, pretty much. My homespun is knitting up a little on the bulky side though, so I think I'll have to pass on the ruffle and do a crocheted lacy trim. The 'Anne Shoulder Scarf' claims to take only 1 skein of yarn or 560 yards. I think I'm not quite going to have enough and will have to spin a little more. The pattern is courtesy of Chris Carroll, Schaefer Yarn. It is from a calendar of knitting patterns which is one of the MOST wonderful gifts I ever received!

Yay! You're back! I'm glad you had a good trip. What perfect sky pictures! The shoulder scarf is so sweet. I think it will look adorable with a crocheted edge.

Too bad about your sister's fall and broken ankle, though! I hope the rehab place is nicer than you think (or do you know it's not?).

Enjoy being back home. I know I always do, no matter how nice it was to be away.
