Here is what our kitchen table looked like on Saturday afternoon as we made these cookies for our church supper. Here is the description from the side of the box....and every word is true..=). "Swedish Rosettes are light, crisp, delectably melt-in-the-mouth puffs of deep fried pastry." Has anybody else been making these too? I'd be wary of them if I had gallbladder trouble though....they are crisp but deep fried is still deep fried! Today I have successfully cleaned my collage table off, it was unspeakably messy! I came across the 20 something day challenge awhile back-to collage a page & journal it. I was impressed....and noted that the joy of creating art is not in the finished project as much as in the creating....=). I collaged over a Hallmark book cover I didn't like when I had things cleaned up. Now its pick-up time other places. Has anyone seen the 'Ideals' Christmas magazine? Its really wonderful. They tell about the prophecy of the birth of God's Son while using pictures of rare & wonderful artwork. My heart was blessed! Plus all the poetry & pictures describing the rare beauties of winter. If you like needlework or sewing, here's a site you might like to check out.
Well, I'm offline for a while to do other things on this overcast December day. Its almost like dusk this afternoon...but having electricity makes our own sunshine indoors...thankfully!
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

The cookies look too good. It reminds me of when I used to bake cookies to sell. One year I baked 200 dozen. I enjoyed it and only wish I could do it again. It's a good thing I quit because the over the years too many cookies went to WAIST. :-)....gramma_s

I do have a rosette cookie wand but have never tried it ... your's look delicious :) My MIL gave me an IDEALS Christmas magazine from the 1950's a few years ago ... I drag it out every December ... the stories are charming. We had a foot of snow that melted ... and now we have more winter snow that is so beautiful. stay warm and dry.

Forgot to say--yes! the snowmen are made from a styrofoam ball cut in half, then covered with "snow". the head is then glued to a snowflake, star, etc. (you can get a jar of the "snow" at Joannes or Wal-mart) You can use a tooth pic for the nose or form one from clay. black beads for eyes and mouth.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this.
Love Ya! Claudia O.

My mom used to make those kind of cookies. I think she still has Grandma's cookie wand. I think they called the cookies "Fatigman" or something?
