What a day my 4th of July turned out to be! Our family spent about 4 hours in the Emergency room with me because we thought I just might have a blood clot in my leg or ankle. Thankfully the ultrasound came back normal and I am just to 'take it easy' for a couple of days. After playing 3 games of horseshoes the previous evening...I walked into the kitchen and my ankle did not want to bear weight...strange but true..smile. We went to bed worried and decided to go have it checked in the morning. After we got back home, I had a domestic spell....making pecan goodies yum...but I warn you, these must 'set up' overnight before they stop being so gooey. "Snappy Turtles" confections. You need; 1 can Pillsbury Ready-to-Spread Chocolate Fudge icing. 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs. 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, 1 & 1/2 cups of pecan halves and 12 vanilla caramels. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup frosting, crumbs, corn syrup & vanilla ...at low speed beat, beat 2 minutes at high speed; Set aside. On waxed paper, arrange 36 clusters of 3 pecan halves in spoke fashion. Spoon a rounded teaspoon of frosting mixture on each cluster. Cut caramels into thirds. Press one caramel piece firmly on top of each cluster forcing frosting mixture between nuts. In small saucepan, hat remaining frosting JUST until melted. Spoon small amount of frosting on each cluster. chill to set. 36 pieces. I(enlisted my husband's help...grin) also made rice crispy squares and a huge bowl of potato salad which turned out a little dry. We needed more Hellman's dressing, and he wouldn't let me use the 'light' version of an off brand. Claims the stuff is nasty and worthless or something like that...the purpose was to bring his triglicerides ? down....tricky spelling, that one..smile. Hope you had a wonderful 4th! We had a very cozy domestic one after we finally got home from the hospital. I loved it, and am so thankful to be born in this great land...may God uphold us until we are caught away to glory either by the rapture or through death. Sin abounds in this land of ours, bold and like a roaring lion, breaking down virtue and scoffing at the truths of God. "Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." II Peter chapter 3, verses 12-14. (for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13...saved from what? eternal separation from God, and being cast into the lake of fire. Jesus came to save us...sinners of which am I..born with a sin nature that rebels against God, until yielding to his Holy Spirit, who whispers to us through God's word the Bible...we are sinners who need to have our sins forgiven, and only the blood of Christ, can wash our sins away. Then we receive a new nature (being born again!..spiritialy)....and belong to God, loving him and obeying his word, which is truth. I have never been happier or more loved in my life since receiving Jesus Christ as my Saviour! Love me, O God...forever. And he will, for he has promised. "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." If these truths are speaking to your heart, hasten to him. confess yourself in need of his salvation in prayer and He will hear and answer if you really mean it.

So sorry to read of your bum ankle; hoping it is feeling better from a day of rest :) I have to agree with your husband's take on any mayo other than Hellman's/Best Foods (out west).
Tomorrow (Fri.) is the stamp camp I mentioned. I need to run and get a few supplies to make tags for my recycled gallon pickle jars that I've spray painted the lids white and use for my flour and sugar canisters. At one time I checked out the one's Martha Stewart sold on-line for a fortune ... If you have kids that enjoy dill pickles, and store the jars in a warm garage or storage shed for a while, the pickle scent evaporates :) and only costs a few dollars per jar. Speedy recovery wishes to you.

Hey, you can get Best Foods (Hellman's) light - it's the only light mayo I will use. Sneak it in there, see if he notices. :)

Glad you are ok.
