Oh this sweet little person.. I'm sure when this baby grew up she was just as busy as we are today, even with no tv, internet connection or fast cars. She probably grew up with lots of needlework and family visits, and I imagine tons of hard work. Just think, no automatic washer and dryer....no dishwasher, not any steam irons or hair dryers. Wait, no indoor plumbing in most cases. And yet, sometimes someone buys an old home and in the remodeling process finds memorabilia that gives a look back in time to a fascinating and rich life span of the occupants of the home. And, for just a few minutes, we wish we could have lived then too. Summer nights spent on the front porch, watching the fire-flies flit across the yard, freshly mowed. Children's laughter as they play hide and seek. Now its the noise of four-wheelers buzzing along outside our home...raising dust 3 feet in the air and throwing rocks in our lawn. Ahhh, yes, the good old days did have benefits, I can well imagine. Today found me spinning and carding my wool. I'll try to post a picture of my newly created 'tweed' yarn. I'm pleased with it, but I thought I was going to get SO much more done today. Know how that goes?...smile. One thing I'm very thankful for....one day, when the Lord Jesus knocked on the door of my heart, and invited me to repent and accept him as my Saviour, I did. My eternal destiny is secure...heaven my home. Will it be yours too? I hope so! Hoping is not enough though, you must believe on Jesus as your own Saviour and confess to him in prayer that you are a hell deserving sinner and ask him to save you from hell and one day take you to heaven to live with him forever.

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man here my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20 "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved." Romans 10:13. Whenever we hear the scriptures, we hear God's voice. He is ever calling for the lost to come to him....I'm so glad I came to him. Have you?

O. Maggie your post thrilled me tonight. It is so precious that we can have sisters in the Lord, on this old lonely earth. I'm so thankful my name is written there, and someday I shall see Him face to face.

Your knitting reminds me of this little song,
Three little mice sat down to spin,
Pussy walked by and she peeked in.
"What are you doing my little men?"
"Sewing best coats for gentlemen"
"May I came in, and bite off your threads"
"no you can't, you'll bite of our heads"
"no, I won't I'll help you spin"
"That might be so but you can't come in."

When I took piano lessons I started in Thompson and my favorite song was "The spinning wheel. "
Have fun with your spinning. project.

What a beautiful little girl and a lovely post as usual. I'm glad you're enjoying your new found hobby. I've been scrapbooking. Finally getting some pages done in the kids books. And Sara(my oldest daughter) is interested and doing her own album. How fun for us to do together. Have great weekend.

dearest Maggie,

I'm sure glad I wasn't too busy the day Jesus came knocking at my door. The entire world almost ceased to exist in order that I might acknowledge Him that day.

The enemy deceives us into believing we have all the time in the world for Jesus because today we'll live it up. Tomorrow we'll think about Jesus...maybe; that with our last breath we'll receive Christ. Wow! What a major lie!

What we don't realize is that we may not have a second chance. Who can guarantee we'll have a last breath? And it's not so much as us receiving Christ as it is for Him receiving us. It's a two way street. No ritual will save us either. It must be by His supernatural power and mercy as we come to Him on His terms.

It's great to see you are still a wonderfully creative and gifted person powerfully loving God.

Many blessings to you.

I know the past was far from perfect but things truly were simpler then.

I think so often of my mother who was born when her family only had a horse and buggy and passed away in the 1990s...the changes that generation saw.

I hadnt really thought about it that summer evevnings long ago wouldnt have been accompanied by the drone of quads! Now that would be nice indeed!

What a cute baby! I love looking at old vintage photos - they give us such a insight into how things were back in the day.

Sorry I haven't been checking in as often - but when I do, I am always encouraged. Thank you for stopping my blog and encouraging me too! Your post reminds me of one of my favorite worship songs... by Hillsong, called "I will never be the same again". When I hear the lyrics, I am moved and reminded that the one moment that I decided to give my life to God, my life has instantly changed, and I will never be the same again. =)
