Isn't this a lovely piece of artwork. So delicate and I love the hairline..it looks so real and the complexion and colors so lovely. I haven't posted for a while and thought I'd put a post up this morning before I get started on my Wed. collage challenge which is 'hats'. I've had a good week, and gotten lots of housecleaning done which is one of the most satisfying accomplishments in the world. Instead of feeling the weight of the 'to-do's on my mind I have given myself the gift of the 'look what I did!' s. My 4 library books have all been picked up now. 3 are about spinning and knitting that I sort of previewed at Barnes & Nobles Bookstore and then borrowed from our library. The other is a novel, an old classic that I will pass on now that I have had the opportunity to read the back cover. rats! It looked good in the store. Anyway I'm off to do the collage challenge and see what I come up with. My craft/sewing room needs re-cleaned. I started those soldered necklaces and needed some jewelry 'fixins' for them...so there they lay. And, I am really going to do some sewing today, just for a while, and take in the shoulder and underarm seams of some dresses from Good Will that are too big. Maybe hem my bedroom sheers while I'm at it. They have polka dots on them...my word, I could have scanned them for the polka dot collage challenge the other week! These sheers were dirt cheap....under $5. a pair from Ikea. They say something to me...like 'homey'. I made valances from an old quilt and these are perfect underneath. Hope you are having a good day. I think I'm going to challenge myself to see how many things I can get done today, it will be fun. "Having someone who understands is a great blessing for ourselves. Being someone who understands is a great blessing to others." Janette Oke ~~~

"The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee; for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee." Psalms 9:9&10

Your diligence is an encouragement and challenge for others to make the most of their time.

I enjoy reading as well and often have several books burning at once. I wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy!

I like the idea of giving oneself the gift of "Look what I did" instead of worrying about the to do's. Im going to try that!

I think I understand about your challenge - if you make it a game, it's easier to get the work done. I like to see how much I can get done in half an hour, etc.

i am so glad to hear that joyful lilt in your voice as you enjoy your home ...

i have given myself permission to take a little vacation ... and it has been fun ... just visiting via e-mail, phone, going for walks, bike rides, reading ... and spending time watching old tv shows with leo ... :o) ... so even tho' it sounds like we are at opposite ends of activity, i think it is all in the heart attitude - where the Lord meets whatever our need is!

blessings on you dear maggie ann - i hope you continue to enjoy your summer activities!
