I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee...Psalm 9:verses 1 and 2a

This book is just such a great read. I'm only part way through and I've been almost in tears and howled with laughter. I heartily recommend this author and if I ever find cause to change my mind, I will be sure to let you know. One hundred and twenty two pages have entertained me richly! I have so much to do today its intimidating me....Well, first off, I had time with prayer and the scripture reading. I surely want God's word to abide in my heart and mind, thus he has promised to abide with me. "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him." ~~~then, there's yesterday. Oh, what a fun day. I'm going to save the pictures of what we brought home for another post but I will say I had a fabulous time. We went through an antique mall that must have covered 1/2 mile or more, and I dawdled shamelessly, loving the moment! I'm off to ? practise my cello? start a collage for Wednesday Stampers?...try to work my way through my son's laundry all over the floor in my used to be-last week-tidy laundry room? Take in the side seams of two pretty jumpers I bought a Good-Will's half off tag sale this week? See what I mean? ....good thing I spent time with my Lord and Saviour first of all, my heart is at peace there anyway..smile. "Lord speak to me, that I may speak...In living echoes of Thy tone; As Thou hast sought, so let me seek...Thy erring children lost and lone." hymn...Lord, Speak to Me..
A close up view of the tatted edging. Only 'in my dreams' pretty...=). I wouldn't be surprised if this took a month to complete...or more. I treasure it. Can't decide whether to frame it or just let it hang over the top of my big dresser mirror where I have been enjoying it.
This is the gorgeous tatted handerchief my friend ordered for my birthday this past January. I'm late posting a picture of it though. The lady that tatted this beauty is the same person that taught my friend and I to tat. What a joy to have this! We had gone to a craft festival in the fall and I was admiring a certain hanky and turned around and went back to buy it. Of course it had sold by then. My friend J. remembered this and called and placed an order for my birthday gift and here it is! Like it? ...smile. She also gave me 3 exquisite crystal buttons for my button bracelet making. If I'm ever 'Anne' spelled with an 'e', she's 'Diana'. We aren't able to get together too often, but the fun we have at church and our teapartys' are tops.

The hankie is so pretty! I love the tatted edges. My grandmother tated quite a bit...such a lost form of art I think..so delicate! So glad to see your feeling better! Hugs and blessings my dear!!
I too have some tatted hankies, but oooh, the red, is lovely. Just popping in to say hi and to find out what book brought such laughter to your heart (mentioned on my site). Will have to check into it. I love laughter from the soul ... it's good for you.
Thanks so much for stopping by. It was exciting to see a new face. You surely brought joy to my day. I will definitely have to read that book. There is nothing better than a good Christian book. Hope to see you around more.
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit! I will have to check out the book you recommended because I am always on the lookout for good Christian books. The antique mall you described sounds fabulous, just the kind of place I love to spend an afternoon! I also love the tatted hankie, perfect for Valentine's Day!
It's nice that you have so many lovely choices of things to do in a day!
Love the beautiful hankie!
I have never read this author but will have to check out this book. Thanks!
Nice to read a nice cheerful post. I need cheering today and your happy words and bright red pictures bring a warm glow!
Maggie Ann, that handkerchief is beautiful, such delicate and graceful work. Thanks for the book reccommendation. I love to read and if you recommend it, I know it will be good.
Have a wonderful weekend! We will be hibernating here with below zero for the night temps. I am thankful for a warm home.
How absolutely exquisite! I don't have much tatting work in my collection. I think it is quite uncommon in comparison to crochet and other needlework, probably due to its complexity and workmanship. I'm only guessing, mind you - those clever ladies who actually do it, and even more clever, teach themselves to do it...sigh...
I would be tempted to put your handkie under glass, either in a frame or under a sheet of glass on a small table.
