Isn't it great to have the royal treatment by our men! I love being pampered. Besides, being sick ...if you aren't too sick...is a nice time to relax with good books and afghans to get cozy under. Thanks everyone for your get-well wishes! Yesterday I made a Martha Stewart meatloaf recipe that was really good. You make a ketchup and brown sugar/dry mustard mix to spread over the top. And a fun and very easy desert. I think I'll print it off here for you. Its super easy and hard to believe that some cornflakes could turn into this desert which even my husband loved. Tomorrow morning we are going about 75 miles away to look at some dishes that we were bidding on ebay. The man was going to meet us halfway and my hubby decided he would like to see what all this man has. I'm afraid he is going to want to buy us the moon. Its one of my favorite dish sets, but I really don't need a complete set. I've just got to get on the ball and show you some pictures of the dishes my daughter got me for Christmas. And other things. Today I made 2 button bracelets and experimented with 'alcohol inks'. I could not find the shiny paper needed for that and ended up using them on foil. A little frustrating, but thats the way it goes sometimes. We had left-overs for supper and we watched the 'Rifleman' on tv and I spent the rest of the evening with my cello. Which was fun for a change instead of frustrating =). Here's a quick and tasty desert for you;
BABY RUTH BARS
1/4 cup sugar~~1/2 cup brown sugar~~1 cup white corn (Karo) syrup~~1 cup peanut butter~~6 cups corn flakes cereal~~ 1 cup salted peanuts~~(I used unsalted & sprinkled a little salt on them)~~12 ounces chocolate chips~~
.....Mix brown sugar, sugar and syrup in a large pan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and nuts. Stir in corn flakes. Press into a buttered 13x9 pan. While still warm, put chocolate chips on top. Put into oven at 350 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes to melt chips. Spread melted chips over top. Cut into bars when cool. (I used the choc.candy melts instead so didn't need to do the oven part). Enjoy =).

I really enjoyed your post, I agree it is nice when you can get special attention when you are sick. I've been down with a cold that won't quit for over 2 weeks. About the time I think I'm getting over it, I wake up sneezing and with a new tickle in my throat. Maybe when the sun comes out (like it does in Idaho) it will bake it out of me. Last night I sent Pop after some Vicks and he came home with the Vicks and also a pint of ice cream from Cold Stone Creamry in a coffe flavor (my favorite, his least favorite) I realize ice cream isn't the best for a cold but it was sure good for the Heart. :-)
A lovely post, a eautiful picture and I hope you will be better real soon. Enjoy your quiet time.
hope you guys had a good trip! and i'm so glad you are feeling better! :o)
