Happy Birthday to me...=). Yesterday I turned 59. We had a sweet celebration with our grandson and daughter on Sunday and drove home Monday. On the last leg of the jouney we stopped at the store for lunch meat , milk and buns. As we were walking in, out came our son singing Happy Birthday, carrying a birthday cake for me. I was in a bit of a daze from fatigue but loved every minute of everything. .....Backing up in thought to Sunday, my daughter told her little son we were going to celebrate Nana's birthday, he asked where the presents were....no presents we said..(those were to come later). He looked sad. Then he asked...were my friends coming? No we said. What, no friends? Then he asked if HIS friends were coming to the party. No...we said. Then his little face lit up as he sang to Nana, holding hands with Papa & Nana and swaying back and forth as he sang. Then a big hug and kiss for Nana and he helped her blow out her birthday candles on her birthday Lemon Meringue pie. The pie was delish but he took one bite and shuddered =). Mommy got 2 video clips of it for me. I am thankful to be 59 years old and richer than ever with the love of God and family.
We celebrated our Grandson's birthday Saturday. His birthday is 4 days after mine. He was so excited with his cupcakes and gifts. His little face was precious to behold. His favorite gift was a dragon puppet. He also got a Curious George that rides a bicycle, and other things. He gets to celebrate 3 times. Once with each set of grandparents and once with his Mommy & Daddy & friends. Our son in law is finally safely home from his mission trip to Brazil...he had some transportation problems but God got him home today. Our prayers are answered, and we are thankful. I can't remember just now exactly where he was in Brazil but I'll post it later. I am really tired and up to my knees (almost!) in laundry. Its good to be home though. Hope you've had a good day, in every way.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." John 10:27 & 28 ....This truth gives me a thrill to type it out and know its true and I am one of his sheep.

"I am resolved no longer to linger, Charmed by the world's delight; Things that are higher, things that are nobler, These have allured my sight. ~~I will hasten to Him, Hasten so glad and free. ~~Jesus, Greatest, Highest, I will come to Thee." hymn...I Am Resolved...James Fillmore/P.Hartsough
