A free clip art that is adorable, isn't it! I'm at the end of the day. Today was our library book sale day, and I brought home lots of children's books, almost 50 of them. Our grandson loves books and he will be coming to Poppa & Nana's house soon to visit. I also got more books for myself than I realized. Here is a sampling; Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch...Fair Noreen (love the cupids on the cover, I'll scan them in for you to see)....Secret of the Old Post Box ..a childrens book from the Weekly Readers Club, remember that? Poems for children. The Summer of the Great Grandmother by M. L'Engle. Some of her writing I like and some not so this may get pitched. A Trixie Belden for our series..The Myster of the Castaway Children. An art print book. A dilapadated copy of Silas Marner which I hold in my hands like a jewel. I don't know why I love it so but I do. When Opposites Attract by Tim & Beverly LaHaye...looks good. Gems of Gold...a devotional copyrighted in 1934. And, a huge volume of The Saturday Evening Post....which tempted me with its vintage adds & cover pictures. I always did like that magazine but seldom had one to read. I'll be scanning some of those old adds I hope. A small book..The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and....a huge volume of Victorian and Later Poets., mildewed on the edges and speaking with a hundred mellow voices within its pages......."Where the quiet-colored end of evening smiles, Miles and miles, On the solitary pastures where our sheep...Half asleep...Tinkle homeward thro' the twilight, stray or stop....as they crop...." by Robert Browning. Wishing each of you that comes by a restful Sunday, full of worship & blessings. "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." Hebrews 13:15 Posted by Picasa

Hello Maggie Ann,
Just letting you know I 'came by.'
Your new books sound wonderful.
Oh I am sure you are looking forward to your visit with your grandson. Grandchildren are such special gifts. Dear hubby and I are expecting our granddaughter in a couple of hours at 2:00. Then off we go to my niece's to celebrate my great nephew's birthday. It will be a fun afternoon with family.
Enjoy your Sunday!

I need to re-read Silas Marner. I remember being the only one in our sophomore class that liked it.

I found Maryam!

Wow, how I miss all of my books in storage. Living with most of our stuff stored away, makes us learn patience ... and living without. Cute photo too.

What a darling boy (photo).

Gems of Gold...a devotional copyrighted in 1934.

I am defintely looking forward to excerpts from this beauty!

Who could blame you for going hog wild on books. What a treasure! I have two I'm reading and two more coming in the mail. And I'm considering another just this morning. So many books and so little time!

Oh, on the photo. I wanted to guess that maybe this little boy is British. Why? Because his salute is with the palm outward as where American Soliders salute with the palm downward and middle finger touching at the edge of the right eyebrow or edge of eye glasses.

I was just at a book sale and I could buy every book. We have a new Barn and Nobles and I could spend a whole day just looking at books. Love the picture.
