Yesterday was 'redwork' day. I lulled away the hours embroidering and reading. It was a very tranquil day, as most of my days are...grin. At suppertime though, I sprang into action and made a huge recipe of Chicken Cacciatore and some salad, with oatmeal cookies for dessert. The best of both worlds I say....
"I love a day all green and grey, And musical with showers--Along the ground there sweeps the sound...Of softly laughing flowers." Rebecca McCann...can you tell from this bit of life caught up in poem, that its been raining here lately....=)

"I love the little cheerful bugs, That chirp and sing all summer long. The summer days are strung like beads....Upon thier fine unbroken song." R.McCann I notice today that the sonorous music of the locusts (which I love to hear) has given way to millions? of crickets. I remember once when coming home from shopping, my poor Mother had just gotten out of the car when a locust alighted on top of her head and started tuning up loudly. What a scare it gave her while she batted at her head, and I watched, wondering, what was happening?. Another time, when I took a load of clothes from the clothes line, they were still damp and I carried them in in my arms and put them in the dryer. When I took them out of the dryer, I discovered a mighty-fine locust....baked I'm afraid. I would have been scared to death if he or she had sung out while in my armload of clothes. As the poor locust ended up the way it did, I laid it carefully in my jewelry chest drawer to keep, a testimonial to the wonderful creation powers of an Almighty God.... "And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1:17

Rain on the roof and a good book or craft to finish, sounds like a relaxing and fun way to spend a day. Have a good weekend.....

Our rain skirted town, but the air smelled fresh and clean, the sky was much bluer and summer heat has gone. Just thought I'd pop on over to see what you've been up to. I liked the pendant website! Have a great weekend

I think redwork is so pretty..... I have some vintage pieces -- a tablecloth, a pillow sham, and a wall hanging......
