Look what I am doing!!! Spinning my own yarn. This is my second try on my homemade spindle which doesn't work really well at first but after it got some weight on it from the wrapped yarn it behaved much better some of the time...= ) A big thankyou to Marlene for all the help and advice she is giving me! The batt-like stuff you see here is called roving and is sheep's wool that has been cleaned and carded. More than that I'm not sure of but its fun to have spun this!! Now to get some more roving. I've found that there is a lady near me that spins so I'm going see if I can buy some from her. In case you wondered...I saw this demonstrated on Do-It-Yourself tv show and immediately knew I wanted to try this! Posted by Picasa

Dear Maggie-ann...WHERE do you find all the time for all these good things and with all your pain!! You never cease to amaze me!
I am a real lazy-bones!!
I have to go to work in a couple of hours for a 19 hour shift, so I will check in on you tomorrow night.
Take care now and don't work so hard!..Love Terry

That looks impressive, Maggie Ann. Maybe you'll have to get some animals to get fur from now. When I was growing up we had a Keeshond (dog) and I saw pictures of sweaters made from the woolly fur combed from this breed.

You are so creative and energetic! I don't do much creativity any more. I used to before I went back to work. Now I pretty much veg out in the evenings (especially the days I take care of the little ones!)

Dear maggie-ann...It WAS you I was thinking about when I thought you had pain!
I remember the first time I ever wrote to you, I had read you were not feeling good, so I guess I just surmised that you had pain.
You were saying that your son was cooking all kinds of rice for you!
Hey maybe you DID have pain Maggie-ann. You had a stomach ache from the little lad's cooking !!!

No, the only time I DID write to you thinking that you were Sabine was the first letter. That's alright though. You two girls are one of a kind!
At least THAT mistake got me a real good friend named Maggie-ann....A Found Treasure!!.. Love Terry

I'm with Terry, When do you find time to do all the things you're doing. Your life seems so interesting, and you seem very good at what you are doing. I just love crafts but don't have a place to put everything. O well, I'll just doodle away at my own speed and maybe till I'm 103 I'll have some things done. :-)

Hey Gramma_s.. I hope you find the time berfore you ARE 103 to check out your blog site!! Ha!!
I commented to you Sept 4 and I gave you one of the funniest stories of our adventure in Penn.
I try not to repeat the same stories on different blogs. I just reserve them for "special occasions" like I heard you were heading to Penn.
Take care now and your blog site is not so bad!!...Love from the Canadian Blogger..Terry

I'm putting in my order for a medium sized pullover sweater please. Amazing how "lost arts" were the staple of everyday survival just a few decades ago ... and today they are resurfacing as crafts. Looks like a great project.
