Day 8 of the 21 day mini-journal. Hubby is off tomorrow but I have to get up way early for a Dr. appt. I'm not looking forward to seeing the sunrise...in all honesty. I'd rather wake up feeling rested. I'm about to post the words to the hymn "His Eye is on the Sparrow" because it goes into my journal with this picture and because it reminds me of my Saviour's love for me. Will you sing along with me ? =)

"His Eye Is on the Sparrow"

Why should I be discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely ..And long for heaven and home, When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled, His tender word I hear, And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears; Tho' by the path He leadeth..But one step I may see; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, Whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, When hope within me dies, I draw the closer to Him, From care He sets me free; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy (I'm happy), I sing because I'm free (I'm free), For His eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me. Civilla D. Martin, Charles H. Gabriel.

What a beautiful journal page, Maggie Ann, with the perfect sentiment--Exalt the Lord!

One of my favorite songs, too. God is so good!

I really like that page! The song brings back memories of Ethel Waters singing that song...

Your journal pages are so beautiful!

Yes, the raised letters are also called embossing. It's just a different kind I think.

As for knitting mittens, they aren't very hard. Those were the first things I learned to knit. So, if you want to join the mitten knit along (http://knittinmittens.blogspot.com) you and anyone else who wants to is more than welcome. I just add your name to the blog so that you can post there, and if you have questions or are having trouble you can always ask the members for help. Hope you'll decide to join. I'm also hoping to have some prizes available by the end as well.

Maggie Ann.

And I know He watches me...Lately I have needed to know that. I know that HE watches me. I am trying to get back up from the downs that I have been in. I posted today about blessings. I was told that I needed to think on the good things and get my mind off of the events of the past two weeks...so...I did...take care.
