Today was baking day, I have two Amish friendship cakes cooling on the counter. In the crockpot are the makings of Pork barbecue. Do you see what I do in this cutie pie of a picture? There is a (I'm whispering...Christmas tree in the background!). Thats ok, really we do celebrate the birth of our Saviour every time we think of our salvation and how rare and precious a gift it is to us, don't we? I do. I have spent my day in the kitchen for the most part. Running low on sugar was a concern but I squeezed out the 2 cups I needed by raiding my teapot sugar bowl. Hope you are enjoying this hot sunny day ..... taking time to reflect on the blessings of just being alive and knowing we are loved by our God.

"Teach me, O LORD, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end." Psalms 119:33

I just adore sweet, cozy posts like these. I've had a tussle going on in my mind, but your note just put me at ease. Just normal, puttery things (including you almost running out of sugar) tickled me.

Many thanks.

I've been cooking all day too. I posted my pics on my blog. But my, I do love baking.
And what a cute pic. She must be baking christmas cookies although when I look at the plate of cookies they're unlike any I've ever baked. lOL

So you run out of sugar and I run out of milk. I borrowed milk from two different neighbors today. Thank God for neighbors!

I got the complaints last month for playing "Ring Christmas Bells" on the CD player but I am with you! I celebrate Jesus' birth all the time!

I am also a fellow sugar bowl raider. . .

you so sweetly and lovingly remind us of our great gift of salvation - often ... and i appreciate that ... where would we be without Jesus?

and so glad you had a good day of baking ... i actually had a wonderful park day myself - it is a blessing when the ole work place is rewarding ... :o)

You always have wonderful pics to share. And yes, Christ is celebrated in the believers hearts 24/7 365+.

There is something cozy about working in the kitchen that brings contentment and peace. I didn't realize how much I treasured my family savoring my meals until my son was no longer here to enjoy the works of my hands. "Who will eat my food?" I cried out. My husband and daughter looked to me strangely as if I'd forgotten they were still available for consuming my wares.

Would you share the recipe for the Amish friendship cake, please?
