I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee...Psalm 9:verses 1 and 2a

Last Friday some friends and I went to our local quilt show. We have been going to the quilt show for 3 years now, with lunch at our tea room afterwards. The quilts are wonderful, the workmanship is over the moon and I noticed this year alot of fancy embroidery stitchs on some of the quilts as well as ruching...did I spell that right? If there was ever 'eye candy' this qualifies. Two floors of wonderful quilts in an old barn and a tour of a pre-Civil war era home in the bargain. Plus, open faced bagel sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches and a fun time as the four of us ladies wore fabulous fun hats. Mine was lavender with a big rose. One of the other friends wore a very wide brimmed pink hat smothered with roses (that she looked wonderful in!), another friend wore a green velvet pillbox, and the other freind a peach wide-brimmed hat with a flower....but of course! We had our picture taken by the waitress several times....but I do wish to remain anon on my blog so I'll have to forego showing that and you'll just have to use your imaginations..ok? I told...(patient smile here) blogger I wanted 3 quilt pictures but I see only one. sigh....

Sounds like such a fun time! I am certain you were all inspired by the beautiful workmanship exhibited there..!
Sounds like you had a great time...the quilt is gorgeous. Anyone who quilts has my utmost respect!! I would love to learn how though...enjoy your afternoon dear...blessings to you and yours..
oooh what a thrilling thing to see, some of the quilts at shows make me wonder how on earth people sew them - some people truly are creative.
What fun! I wish I could have been there.
Each year we go to a county fair and I always make sure to see the quilt exhibits.
Staying anon, I totally understand.
I love hats! The hats sound absolutely beautiful and I would love an excuse to wear one. I have a plain straw hat that I bought in Colonial Williamsburg Virginia a few years back but the one you mentioned smothered in roses is definitely my cup of tea. *wink@pun*
