Did you notice the raindrop marks on the stones? I thought that was interesting. My day went well...I had to drive to my lesson myself today. Hubby usually takes me as my cello lesson is in the evening except during the summer and then we go shopping a bit afterwards. It was a very serene uneventful trip untill I was 2 miles from home and going 5 miles under the speed limit. The fellow behind me obviously had some road rage over that. He passed me so closely I was just waiting for the driver's side of our car to grind away. Then of course he cut me off...just as closely and the cherry on top of all this rage ......a few yards down the road he pulled into the trailor court. I am very thankful the Lord kept me safe, and calm. The calm part was a miracle if you knew me like I do. I have an 'e' or 'a' string group of nerves! ......Our oldest daughter was 16 years old when she was diagnosed with A-plastic anemia. From that point on, she was with us just 3 months. Many blood transfusions and hospitalizations. A special treatment program that was available at our big hospitals 1 hour away...all to no avail. She went to be with the Lord after getting a type of pneumonia that an elderly man had that was on the same floor as she was. I could go on but in the end of everything....we knew, you either trust God completely or you turn from him. We trust him for all. Our daughter loved to read, she did very well in school and played violin in the local youth symphony. We were very close. I know I will be with her again someday...the Lord has promised it. "Jesus saith unto her, I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, thought he wre dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?....She saith unto him, Yea LORD; I believe..." John 11:25-27a

I didn't know the story of your daughter. Your quote, "we knew, you either trust God completely or you turn from him", is so true, and one I'm hanging onto right now.

Thanks for sharing a tough time.

Love you.

adversity does that, doesn't it? it either makes you or breaks you ... and nothing could be worse then the death of a child ...

thank you for the testimony of God's grace ... (hugs)

Thanks everyone for your loving and supportive comments. I hope with all my heart you never have this loss in your life. But then, the love of God for us and his grace to us, is beyond our ability to tell. Do you know the song.."There is a balm in Gilead..." It took me 7 years to get back to enjoying life...the heartache did not go away quickly. I must 'let' her with the Lord...even in my heart's memory... the part that opens the door to grieving. I remember reading aloud to the family in the car (soon after she went to be with God)(on our way to the photographer to get some special photos of her)..."The Magic Garden" by Gene Stratton-Porter. We hung on every word....it took us away from the present for a resting time...a good story. Never take lightly the 'resting' times God gives during grieving. They are a good thing for a good purpose, little beginnings of healing. Later on that summer...I read the 'Man of the Family" series by Ralph Moody. I wondored that I was able to enjoy the story, and even laugh at times through it. Another resting place. Thank you my heavenly Father! These stanzas from the hymn "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" says it best; May Thy rich grace impart, Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire; As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee pure, warm and changeless be, A living fire!~~~While life's dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, Be Thou my Guide; Bid darkness turn to day, Wipe sorrows's tears away, Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside." If it were not for God's grace , I would still be bound by grief, but we sorrow not as others for we shall meet again. Oh happy day!

Hi Maggie Anne, There is nothing I can think of to say about your loss, except to echo what has been said before on this post. Amen.
Now, about being a victim of road rage...this happens in Australia too - all over the world I guess, sadly. My car is old and slower than the souped up new ones the kids drive these days, so I am sometimes 'in their way' when they are in a hurry to break the speed limit and I'm not. I find the best thing to do is to indicate that I am pulling over to the side of the road. They wouldn't know whether you are actually going to park there or go into a driveway. But it gets them off my tail and I feel safer. Try it!
